β β β β β Update: This store will unfortunately be closing permanently in the Summer of 2022, after three decades of service under the Your Independent Grocer label.
Although it was quite small compared to the other grocery stores of the chain in the area, this store still offered goods at great prices. And I personally think this is one of the best stores for fresh meat in Kanata.

β β β β β Prices are very high compared to other Independent Grocers - shocking actually.
We found in plain view rotting large bags of frozen vegetables, amazing that staff would not remove this. It seems to be all about the gain and not about quality. Perhaps this place will be closing.

β β β β β I have been shopping at your store for many years now, I can not say enough good things about the staff and management, Especially during the pandemic, Your management and staff have been kind and courteous with me due to not being able to wear a mask. Now I hear you will be closing in July and relocating to a new location, I would like to say THANK YOU to the INCREDIBLE management and GREAT staff, You will be missed by the great community of Kanata, Enjoy your new community

β β β β β I have shopped at Laura's for many years. Am now enjoying their curbside pickup. The Shoppers do a great job picking out my products for me and have called me on the phone if they were uncertain about a substitution product. Very pleased with this service

β β β β β Hazeldean Mall is pretty dead. When walking in the lighting is poor and when at checkout rather dark (light above me actively goes on and off from what cashier told me, should have been replaced). Decent selection for food for a discount brand. Mall (and this grocery store) closes at 7 pm on weekdays which when compared to 10pm elsewhere in area. This mall needs to be revitalized which is more city planning and access via public transit. Also borders on greenbelt so it isn't nessecarily walking distance for people. Kind of sandwiched between Robertson Road, Centrum and the Real Canadian Superstore down the road and doesn't have enough in mall to draw people in and keep them there.

β β β β β Best customer service ever in this store. Laura's has the old-fashioned friendly customer service that you don't find anywhere else. Employees smile in this store, their faces are familiar when you shop here because alot of the staff have been working here a long time. Such a wonderful place to shop that I still come from out of town to shop here because the atmosphere and food quality is excellent. They have the best meat department around. Always fresh, great cuts, prices and excellent quality.
