Every culture in Vancouver has contributed & enriched the experience of our daily lives with its rich & diverse offerings; the Chinese culture is no exception. Increasing numbers of the non-Asian public have enjoyed its cuisine, its aesthetics, and its traditional medicine. My acupuncture doctor sent me to this herbal products centre at TWO Two FOUR ONE (2241) HASTINGS STREET, near HASTINGS & NANAIMO, to obtain a mixture of herbs for a specific treatment. First of all, the aromas are bewitching. Liquorice-type scents seem to dominate. After reading the prescription, the shop owner measures each herb in a particular way by hand, before checking the amounts on a scale. He then places the mixture in plain brown paper bags carefully folding the corners. Just before my taking leave, he confirms with me the preparation instructions. This visit at 2241 (TWO Two FOUR ONE) HASTINGS STREET near NANAIMO & HASTINGS will not be the last visit.
