Grandin Clinic has some great staff working there. The receptionists are always nice and understanding. My GP is amazing and really takes time to talk to me and get to the bottom of what's going on. The other doctors at the clinic are really great if I need to go to the walk-in. They are really understanding and knowledgeable. The mental health nurses are good to talk to and can help you get through life challenges. There's an X-ray clinic in the basement so you can head downstairs to get that done, often on the same day. The clinic gets really busy and can get behind, like all clinics now a days, but you know that when you get in they will put in as much time and effort in making sure that you are treated to the best of their ability. Overall a really great clinic.

My 76 year old mom has been going to this clinic for 20 + years. She has been seeing Dr. Brocken and very satisfied with him. This week she called to make an appointment to get a requisition for a MRI that she is willing to pay for to shortened the wait time that she would otherwise face. The clinic recently switched to a call centre for appointments bookings and she was told when she called that she had to wait two weeks to see the doctor for the 5 minutes she needs to get the signed requisition. The clinic has a walk in clinic but they do not let people which Doctor is on call so this does not help her. Before the call centre she would book the appointment through Donna, Dr.Brocken's receptionist, who would realize that she only needed a few minutes and so she'd get her booked in. This tells me that switching to the call centre has made even harder for a patient to be in contact with their doctor, which can be very scary especially for elderly patients!

I'd like to share my experience recently with Grandin Medical Clinic. First off, I'd like to say that the doctors are fantastic. My wife's family and mine have been going there for years. But recent events forced my hand, and I had to leave the clinic and find another doctor. I saw the on call Doctor after I hurt my ankle quite badly;turns out it was broken and I needed to immobilize it for 4 weeks as per the doctor. Due to my occupation was not able to work. My employer required Short Term Disability forms to be filled out by my doctor in order to approve my pay after 5 days of missed work. I dropped off the forms only a few days after I saw the on call doctor. I just told the lady that I needed the forms before the following Friday (1week). She stated "Okay I'll let the doctor know". The following Thursday I still had not heard back so I called and the lady said "The doctor has up to 30 days to fill out the forms" I explained to her that they were important an I needed them ASAP. She simply said she'd leave a note for the doctor again. Another week goes by and I still did not hear back, I called 6 times trying to get ahold of the forms department with no success. So I drove down there to speak to someone in person. Explained to the lady in the forms department of my situation; that I won't be getting paid until I submit these forms. Same response, "I'll leave a note for the doctor". By this time I was on unpaid leave so I had to find a another Doctor/Clinic that could help me. I went to other clinics but they couldn't fill the forms unless I was a doctors patient and most were not taking new patients. Luckily I found a clinic that could take me on and got the forms sorted out on my first visit! I normally would have given Grandin Medical Clinic another shot. But having a family, mortgage and bills to pay... I can't afford to let this happen again. Grandin Medical clinic caused a major disruption in my wage, some financial hardship and a great deal of stress. Up to 30 days to fill out forms is unacceptable. I would hate for someone else get caught in the same situation as I did.

Tried to make an appointment on August 4, 2021, was told to call back on August 17, 2021 because the whole month is booked up. So can’t even get an appointment with my family doctor within a month. I don’t understand why the doctors take on so many patients, they can’t even take care of the ones they have. Very disappointing. Edit- now I have to wait over an hour to get a receptionist to answer the phone and when they did I asked what took so long and she said everyone is answering the phone and hung up on me. This doctors office is ridiculous and unprofessional. Receptionist staff are rude and need people skills. Horrible clinic.

My wife and I have been clients of the Grandin Medical Clinic for over 40 years and Dr Bell has been wonderful, attending to our physical and emotional needs with the utmost professionalism. Last fall we were informed of Dr Bell’s pending retirement and given 3 doctors that would be willing to accept us as new clients and told to call Dec 15 with our decision. On Dec 15 we were told to call Jan 15 then were told to call Feb 15 only again be pushed off until March 15. While all we were seeking was a confirmation of where our files will be transferred we were informed that all the doctors appointments were filled and we’d have to call in another month. In the past a simple call the Theresa, Dr Bell’s assistant, and our needs were taken care of. Today however the clinic has a new central booking system designed to make administration lives easier, unfortunately at the expense of the clients. While we’ve always been very happy with Dr Bell and wish him nothing but the very best as he enters this new phase of his life I have to say the clinic’s administration need to reassess it’s mission statement. Placing their interest ahead of the clients is a recipe for disaster,,,it’s a basic principle of business.

I have been a patient of the st albert grandin medical clinic for most if the last decade. My mother, my father, my partner, my son, my daughter are all also long term patients of this clinic. Dr. Hilner and some of the other doctors are absolutely fantastic additions to the medical field and their dedication to their patients should be applauded. That being said, some of their colleagues, specifically their current (new front end receptionist staff, certain doctors) make it painfully clear that their first and foremost priority is not patient care, but instead the money that comes from working in medical. My partner went in today to see her doctor about a damaged foot. She dropped a solid heavy object in it before bed last night and has cracked the nail in multiple places.there is obvious fluid buildup along the bed of the nail and bruising along the entirety if her foot. She can not stand on it, is in intense pain, and so we decided this morning ti go see the doctor. We were lucky enough (as we would later find out to be more unfortunate) that her regular family doctor was the doctor on call. my partner while waiting overheard receptionists talkimg to patients about not being abke ti help them, rudely hanging up on customers. And her family doctor was dismissive about my partners issues. This is insanely unprofessional of this office of medical workers. Where compassion and caring is foremost in medical applications this office shows blatant disregard for patient care and comfort, became offended when without asking he went to touch my partners foot and she swore in pain, saying abusive languagwas not tolerated by them. This is not the first and probably wont be the last incident. And complaints will be filed with AHS in regards to these incidents.

I love our family doctor, however when you need an appointment they make it not till 2-4 weeks later. Symptoms are gone. Then when attending you wait some more as if you were a walk in. And then wait again for the doctor to come in. Sincerely a ridiculous system.
