GoodLife Fitness Whitby Centrum

Place is very clean when the place is less busy I feel people complain and wine about how the littlest dirt is on the ground and stean room smelling off sometimes people gotta understand this place is 24 hours and people use the gym constantly everywhere and rely on really 1 person per day to do the work.

basket ball court is outdoor and the rims suck , steam room is trash, other then that its one of the better facilities with newer machines

Stay clear from this gym if you value your money and time. From the inexperienced staff and terrible customer service to the members that are rude and gross, this place is toxic like the manager that runs this place. If do you not believe me just go there, its a waste of your time and money. I highly recommend a different gym.

Going to the gym has been a part of my life for 30+ years. I've belonged to many different clubs where I have resided in Canada and USA and have been a GLF member for 10+ years. I really like GLF and have become friends with many instructors, trainers and fellow members. I was very relieved when the gyms reopened as I am an extrovert and do not enjoy working out at home. I live in Whitby so have frequented many clubs in the Durham Region during my tenure with GLF, including Whitby Centrum, Oshawa Centre, Whitby Women's, Ajax Harwood Coed, Rossland/Salem and Westney. I was a regular Body Pump attendee until some surgeries prevented me from continuing certain exercises. I enjoy Body Flow and like spinning (although I'm not a fan of the RPM music - lol). I also thoroughly enjoy Cardio Dance and Zumba classes. I was certified to teach group fitness and spinning several years ago so I am perhaps pickier than most regarding instructors, choreography and music - and GLF's are topnotch. Since covid, I have preferred to workout closer to home and limit outings in general. Whitby Centrum is my preferred location and I try to work out 4-5 times/week. I am writing to acknowledge how well-run Cory and his team manage this club. I like the friendly M-F front desk staff a lot (I can't recall all of their names, but would like to acknowledge Lauren, John, Charlotte, Whitney - and formerly Llexia and Richard who have gone on to different careers). It is always a good sign when staff are happy in their work environment. There is a special feeling one gets within a well-functioning work environment. I find the staff to be genuinely friendly and approachable, and they set a pleasant, professional tone for members. This is a reflection of Cory's management style. The equipment and various parts of the large facility are kept clean, and staff are routinely visibly on the floor wiping things down. I also appreciate that if I mention that a piece of equipment has an issue (dead battery, for e.g.), mirrors in a studio are dirty (idiots putting their hands on them to stretch) or there was a need for paper towel or toilet paper everything is dealt with in a friendly, prompt manner -- as this is not always the case at other locations. I would also like to acknowledge how safe and secure I found GLF to be during the earlier stages of the pandemic when spacing issues were regulated and masks were obligatory (I wish they still were and still don a mask when not working out on equipment). I found the Whitby Centrum facility incredibly well-managed and kept meticulously clean. My husband and I plan to downsize and move to Ottawa in 2023 and I will be genuinely sad to leave the Whitby Centrum group and hope to find a similar GLF 'family' at an Ottawa location. I can only imagine the stress GLF has been under throughout the pandemic. Leases, overhead, insurance, equipment maintenance and depreciation costs, cleaning and staffing must run into the multi-millions. Not to mention navigating the ever-changing government guidelines pertaining to the virus. Happy 43rd birthday GoodLife Fitness -- here's to many more!! Kudos to doing such a fantastic job during such extraordinarily difficult circumstances, and thank you for making the experience so pleasant.

Very musty probably mold smell in steam room. Hot tub is only a few degrees warmer than the pool, with very few poorly placed jets. There is always hair floating in the hot tub. The pool is pretty small. The changerooms have dirt and debris on almost all flat surfaces. The rest of the gym seems to be clean and well maintained. However if you need a steam room, hot tub or pool I suggest looking into other gyms. I came to goodlife for the amenities and I was very disappointed. The only thing that I like about this gym is they are open 24 hours. I will be switching gyms asap.

Has lots of everything for working out including a pool. Open all the time. (Even better hours than the municipal fitness club I go to). Free towel service. Nice staff. Easy to park.

The BEST GoodLife I have ever been to. Very spacious and equipment is always open. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Shaz helped me get my membership setup and provided excellent customer service. I'd recommend anyone in the area choose this GoodLife for their gym!

Honestly the main reason for giving 5 stars is Mr Richard, he has an amazing personality!!! His excellent customer service and behaviour is really admirable. He is always respectful patient and smiling. I love this location as it got a very nice atmosphere and brilliant stuff. Just one suggestion though, most of the time there is a problem with the steam room and jacuzzi. Suggesting the management to take it more seriously please. Thanks.
