Go Bananas

I was at this location for a childs birthday party. I am usually not one to write poor reviews but I feel the need because this rings a huge safety alarm for me. I want to make this clear that the staff member on duty was not at fault as I feel this is the responsibility of the establishment. During the 3 hour visit to Richmond Go Bananas, a child appeared to be choking, and I asked the attendant at the front desk if anyone had first aid, and there was no trained staff member on duty at this childcare facility. Lucky a few parents were able to attend to this situation. Secondly, there was a zippered opening that I personally found at-least 5 children INSIDE, yes it is the responsibility of the parents to be watching their children however from the birthday room, or anywhere else (unless you are directly beside the area) would not be able to notice they were not in a safe area. There was electrical wires, power cords, dust and dirt and it was clearly an off-limits area. It was freely open for kids to play in, as how would children know that this was off-limits as there was no lock or sign stating other wise. Keeping in mind this was near the "3 and under area." I felt as if this was a major safety issue, and could have related in electric shock of a child. I was concerned, so I asked if there was a lock as children were inside... I was given a zap strap and got all of the children out and zipped it shut. Within seconds, I found ANOTHER opening with two zippers OPEN. This area was just really dusty, and had less hazards, however still had a small area for children to be trapped. I then went to the desk attendant again and asked for another zap strap to secure this "out of bound" area. Next, there was at-least 3 or 4 garbage bags at the end of the stairs accompanied by a massive ladder that children could have access to if they wished. It was a fire hazard blocking the door, and any emergency evacuation if there needed to be. I don't really want to bring up the condition of mess, as these safety issues ring more of an alarm for me. I am not a parent myself, however this establishment clearly lacks protocols and procedures to keep your children safe. As an educator, I would NEVER book a group field trip or outing to this location and hope if you choose this play area to check the quality of safety before your children play.

We had our 3 year old birthday event here last weekend. We called the owner a few days earlier to ensure the place was clean since the previous reviews mention it's quite dirty. The owner was very receptive. The place was perfect and the kids enjoyed themselves. The pricing is the best compared to other places in Richmond.

Booked my little girls party here. while we were all eating pizza and cake 2 attendants stopped/interrupted the whole party, and in front of everyone, asked us to "pay early" in front of other moms. found this rude. they could have asked us to pay at the beginning. Also, at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the party room, there is a noticeable urine smell. need to clean carpets. Don't think we will book here again.

We just had a party there for 3 kids - 40 children and at least 30 adults. It was AMAZING. The kids ran around like little maniacs, and the adults got to just chill and visit and eat. Unlike so many other places, you can bring your own food and drinks, so you're not forced to overpay for yuck food. Staff at the front were super friendly and accommodating, and so helpful with cleanup. All in, it was under $600 for the kids and you don't have to pay for the adults. We had nothing but positive feedback from our guests. Highly recommended to book the early morning slot (opens at 10), as there were very few other people in the place. Would definitely use this facility again!

The place smells of urine throughout the entrance, play area, bathrooms, party room, staircase to party room... Dust and grime cover every surface. It makes you want to walk through a Hazmat shower upon exit.

As an already stressed out mom of a kid and an infant, I took on the responsibility of another child on Friday night. A play date so my son can have some fun again since we have been holed up at home tending to the baby. My plan was Go Bananas at the Richmond location and then white spot. This was one of the few Indoor play places that open until 730pm on a Friday. We waltzed through the door around 4:55pm. Figured the kids can enjoy for at least a couple hours and then we can go eat. Like a previous contributor said earlier, once you open the door to this place it reeks of urine. The place is quite small compared to any other indoor gym, but I guess quite typical of Go Bananas as I've been to the one in North Van. (I sent in a review for that one also.) There was a young staff member behind the desk. We filled out our forms and paid approx $24 for the two 6yr olds. My husband and I got comfortable in one of the booths. Not even an hour later, the staff member approached us and was very unprofessional. Don't care if she's young, she needs more training. She said " hi, we are closing at 6pm so you have until 610pm to leave". I said "excuse me?". She went on to say that "yeah, we have a party who wants to whole place and they paid more for it so...". I replied that she should have told us once we stepped in that door that within an hour we are being kicked out. I would have happily of went to the bowling alley instead. Her reply was "yeah, well next time you can call and ask yeah...". Unbelievable!!! Again, I have 2 kids who barely got their sweat on after eating a full bag of Skittles in the car and have paid $24 for that one hour, I am unamused. Will not never ever step foot in another Go Bananas. Terrible customer service, horrible unclean condition of the facility and just NOPES all around.

Took my kids here as a last resort when we tried to go bowling across the street but it was closed. I have never seen a place so filthy in my life. Layers of dirt and grime on everything. Cobwebs and garbage everywhere, bathrooms were the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. The garbage can was overflowing with dirty diapers and had cobwebs on it so obviously hasn’t been emptied in a long time. There is no way that place has been cleaned at all in the last month. Whole place smelled of pee. After ten minutes we couldn’t take it anymore and I felt uncomfortable letting my small children play there. Asked for a refund but was told it’s against policy. Okay that’s when I asked for a manager and said that we needed to leave because the place was dirty. Suddenly and thankfully the girl agreed to refund me. Thank god. Taking my kids to kidtropolis instead. Now I know why nobody else was in there! Will never go back! This place should probably be shut down-there’s no way this doesn’t violate health codes. Ew!!!

best for having a birthday party. They have large room upstairs. My daughter & her friends enjoyed it.
