About Glenmore Christian Academy
At Glenmore Christian Academy, students have the opportunity to grow academically, artistically, athletically and spiritually in a supportive community comprised of teachers, peers, parents and Christian values. GCA has been nurturing future leaders and Christ followers since its inception. A JK to Grade 9 private Christian school in the southwest of Calgary, GCA was birthed out of the vision of First Alliance Church Pastor, Dr. Wendell Grout in 1980. It was born out of the conviction that a school was needed in the community that would combine both a strong academic program and an equally strong Biblical focus on truth, lifestyles and values. We continue to be a ministry of First Alliance Church in Calgary.
In partnership with supportive, involved parents, the goal of our educational team is to develop well-educated, faith-filled youth in a creative, active and nurturing environment. With a focus on high academic standards and using an enriched, balanced academic curriculum, our Head of School, Stan Hielema, and two dedicated principals, Mr. Sean Gonsalvez and Mrs. Colleen Allan work alongside our team of specialist educators to ensure your children are receiving the highest quality education.
Service to others is highly valued. Starting in Junior Kindergarten, we help our students learn how they can share their love of God with each other and the community. Mission trips, outdoor education with a spiritual focus, regular devotions, chapels and ministry to others are all ways we work to achieve this goal. In this nurturing environment, students have the opportunity to thrive. It is this commitment that brings alumni back to share the GCA experience with their children.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's unfortunate that I can't put zero stars. This school targets immigrant kids and make the experience a very bad one for them. They do not know how to work with different cultures and like to diagnose children for no reason. We would not recommend this school to our worst enemy. So many immigrant families have had the same issue with the way they handle things. It's funny how they are okay with collecting our money but then they turn around and make our children feel bad about themselves. The entire staff need to be trained on diversity and inclusion. Their practices are unacceptable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wish I could give this school -1 starsMy child went here and had a very bad experience. My child was called a slur and the Mr.Kennedy and Ms.Allan made the child only apologize. Yet when he did something wrong he get a stern talk and almost suspension. It was completely unfair. My child now does not like this school and cries a lot when he realizes he has to go to school. Not only that he was falsely diagnosed with ADHD because eon the teachers said he had it. I am unrolling my child of this school and I hope you do to. This school is very bad and needs to be shut down unless they step p their game Mr.Hielema. This trash bag is what I think about the school

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s very unfortunate that I’m unable to rate GCA at 0 stars. This school doesn’t deal with bullying and does not care about students mental health. Many teachers aren’t doing their jobs well and students have been saying that they aren’t learning anything in certain classes. I wouldn’t recommend this school for anyone. It’s a waste of money and your own well-being.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had my daughter for 3 years at the school, we are not Canadians, it went very well for us, it is very difficult to find a school like this with the academic level, the treatment of its students, I really miss GCA a lot. I never heard anything bad with my friends who have their children there. I don't know what would have happened to the immigrant friends. I am convinced that it is a very good school.
