★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Teachers constantly care about how you are doing in and out of school, I remember when I attended here in grade 2 the teacher made sure I made it home safe as I lived a decent distance away and always walked home

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The school is short staffed, so the door is closed before the assigned time. Not only that, the school secretory lacks the basic professional communication skills. I do think that since it is past her retirement time, a new face is needed for that office

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The receptionist staff are unpleasant and unprofessional especially to non- caucasian students. The school is always short staffed so if you call the school, the chance of anyone picking the phone is low. The receptionist office is very disorganized as they lost my child's document when asked to give a copy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Somerset school was my daughter’s second home for four years. My daughter enjoyed the school, its teachers and its playground. Overall this is a nice and safe community school with good teachers and great Principal. Thank you Jim and thanks to your staff for your continued and hard work that may often go unnoticed. We are forever grateful to you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have nothing but good things to say about this school. I first moved to Calgary when my oldest was just starting Kindergarten (4 years ago) and this school has been amazing. Our first year there his kindergarten teacher had actually encouraged me to get my son assessed for Autism (which he was diagnosed ) Since then each teacher he has had have been amazing with him. Made adaptations for him to help him succeed and thrive as well as helped me find my voice to be able to advocate for my oldest. My youngest who is now in grade 2 is absolutely thrilled to go to school every day because he loves everything about the school. The love that radiates from this school is astounding, it truly is a community that supports each other. They have been so supportive and have tried as hard as they could to make a “normal” school experience since restrictions had come into place, which isn’t easy. I can’t even properly convey how much the staff at Somerset School mean to my family and I. I’m so incredibly happy that we made this our school and I’m going to be heartbroken when we have to leave for another school. ?
