About Gerry Falk
Gerry has been privileged to be a registered Alberta psychologist for over 30 years. With regard to background, she has a spectrum of courses in counselling psychology, clinical assessment and administration. Gerry has also worked as administrator, consultant, school counsellor and teacher in a rewarding and exciting career with Edmonton Public Schools. She's worked extensively with teachers and staff, building resiliency, healthy teams and has been involved in leadership coaching. Gerry has enjoyed teaching psychology at Concordia College University. As psychologist on a multidisciplinary team, Gerry was privileged to work extensively with children and their families, developing positive strategies to deal with ADD, childhood depression, OCD and learning disabilities. She has also had experience working with adults 50+.
Gerry’s expertise with individuals, couples and families was developed at the Family Centre where she practiced for more than 10 years. She developed interest and compassion working with individuals who have anxiety, depression and other clinical issues. Particular areas of focus were women’s issues, career planning and job challenges. Gerry has been a member of The Centre for Family and Health Psychology team and has collaboratively worked with clients to enhance self-esteem and resilience. Specializations include mindfulness, a solution-focused approach, and cognitive behavioural techniques. Through genuine care and support, it is Gerry’s goal to develop each individual’s self-esteem and co-create strategies to successfully deal with life’s issues.
