??BE WARNED??? Let this be the sign to deter you from this place. This really happened. We were referred because our family friend who thought it was under a different owner. It was under Ernie Gratton. Salesperson Hussein. We spoke to Larry and were assured the vehicle we wanted for our price range was no more than $5,000. When we got there, Larry said Hussein will speak with you when he gets here but it shouldn't be more than $14,000-15,000. We were about to buy a 2015 Jeep Patriot High Altitude edition for $18,000, which we later realized was way over priced. The paperwork ended up with a total of over $33,000. It was fine during the Test Drive with Larry. We did an initial DEPOSIT OF $500. We signed the paperwork but were unable to transfer insurance on the spot so we drove it off the lot, uninsured, which we were assured was ok from Hussein. We later found out that was illegal. We drove it off the lot to go to our insurance provider in person because we couldn't get through to them on the phone. That was when we noticed the engine start to rumble and shake the whole vehicle at stop lights. I deduced it was the Engine mounts after a test recommended by Google. The test showed the engine moved more than an inch when done. Very unsafe and would need to be fixed ASAP to avoid further engine damage. We went back after our insurance provider was closed to the public and inquired about the engine. Hussein wrote it vaguely in writing that they would fix it as the warranty did not explicitly say engine mounts. Feeling mildly satisfied but still worried I was about to get dropped off at work when we decided to look through the paperwork closer. We wanted our own Carfax after realizing the one provided was not current and non-specific to "Service Provided". That's when we noticed the VIN on the vehicle we were in did not match the Bill of Sale and also the Kilometers were off on both the Mechanic report and Bill of Sale. This raised some red flags. After leaving work to handle the situation we arrived and I started RECORDING the interaction as we did not know what would happen. I also took photos for evidence of the paperwork. It should be noted when we left the lot, we left our keys and vehicle in their possession temporarily until we returned with the insurance swapped over. IT WAS NOT A TRADE. What ensued when we returned was RACISM, AGRESSIVE ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOR. When we returned, our vehicle was blocked in on the lot. Ernie got escalated, slammed doors, and at one point I heard him say "F*ckin' Indian" as he slammed the door and exited the office but unfortunately it was not heard on the recording. Ernie also threatened my FiancΓ©, stating he does not "return money" and that we could fight it out in court. I remained calm during the whole ordeal and asserted we wanted the transaction canceled, our $500 deposit returned and the return of our vehicle. They pleaded their case but I stood my ground. During this all I was still recording. We called our family friend to assist us. When he arrived, they exchanged heated words. In the video, our friend asked, well will you at least return their vehicle? Let them out. Ernie can be heard saying No. Only after threatening to call the cops, did the GM Ernie finally concede to move HIS vehicle that was blocking ours in. A police report has been made for suspected fraudulent activity but in the mean time. DO NOT GO TO GATEWAY AUTO. Not only were we pressured Into a vehicle we explicitly told them we didn't want in that price range. We were threatened, made to feel less than, and like we were in the wrong when even the insurance/financing company they work with told us letting us leave without proper insurance/registration was ILLEGAL and could have landed us with a huge fine as well. Gateway auto and Ernie Gratton should NOT be in business

If I could give them a negative 5 stars I would! They sold my daughter a vehicle. She went to register it and the VIN didn't match. They won't refund her deposit so she's going to AMVIC. Buyers beware! Do NOT trust these scammers! They yelled and swore at her when she went back. ?

Hussein Thawer was amazing to deal with! He answered every question I had promptly with patience and total professionalism. He truly cared about my needs and did everything to accommodate them and got me just what I was looking for. I fully recommend seeing him as he went above and beyond., it's nice to find a place and person who truly cares and isn't about just making a buck! God bless

Ernie, - We won't or never have done business with a Bully and someone that uses profanity to my staff. Very poor business practice. If this how you treat your suppliers, I can only imagine how you treat your customers.

I was going to say everything that has happened to me with purchasing a vehicle at this dealership but it would be two long to read. All I have to say is buyer beware I'm still dealing with issues with my truck since December and they have washed there hands from it. Do not buy from this place I have never been so stressed out about purchasing a vehicle and your supposed to be happy with buying a new vehicle but I have been miserable for months now. My truck has been in the shop more than I have drove it. Stay away

I recently purchased a vehicle from gateway. Ernie, his "Junior Salesman" Levi & John were exceptional. The whole experience was very seamless. Ernie is an honest and upfront gentleman. Some of these negative reviews I'm seeing just seem to be from folks that are "sour grapes". I would encourage anyone interested in buying a vehicle to just talk to this man and get to know him and his Team. I am sure you will have the same experience as I did. I know shady people, Ernie is not one of them. Just a good man trying to run a business and feed his family. Ernie was very transparent throughout the whole process. I travelled from 5 hours away to purchase my vehicle. Upon arrival, everything was just as discussed in our phonecall. No surprises. I got a great vehicle for a great price. Ernie went above and beyond to provide me with a mechanical fitness assessment as well. We made a deal that was mutually beneficial and I left very pleased with the whole experience. If you want to buy a vehicle from a gentleman who is no BS, transparent and easy to deal with, Ernie will provide great value for your money. I will be making deals with this company in the future.
