★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came into the store to use the coin machine to get rid of my coins. Was directed towards the machine and told to pour my change in. Some of the change went into the machine and I stopped promptly when nothing was happening. I called an employee over to assist and I was told the machine was off. She then called the supervisor (Lisa) to open the machine with a key to get our change back. I have never met as rude an employee as her. She came over and immediately blamed us for the machines problems, then acted as though we knew exactly how the machine worked to blame us more. We did not get back all of our change and I will never be coming back to have to deal with the extreme ignorance and terrible customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a grocery store, not much to say, but a couple things. If you live in a larger city and are used to your local Big City Food Basics you may find this one a bit more "Basic" than you're used to. Port Hope Food Basics does NOT have precooked deli chickens or any other hot ready-to-eat options.
They also dont have the selections in the ethnic foods section that you will find elsewhere. 1 example...they dont carry "Best" brand tropical juices. (Best Mango & Guava juices are delicious) They advertise them on sale from time to time, but you wont find them here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't stand shopping here anymore. No matter what time I go. 9 times out of 10. They are sold out of atleast 3 out of 6 items I need. Just disgusted. Spoiled meat 3 times now. I gave it a 2 star cause the staff is very friendly.
