B	Billy Boob on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have to say, this place is really something special. From beautiful things to tasty treats whoever does their ordering is a genius. Excellent gifts, fancy condiments, my only regret is not stopping in sooner.

The last thing anybody wants to think of is preparing food after a loved one passes on. Yet they must eat. I called Herma's. Although I knew they would be extremely busy preparing pre-orders for Christmas, I had to ask if there was any way they had the time to prepare a Charcuterie board for me to take to our family's home. Bless Herma who passed me on to speak to Margaret in their kitchen. And bless sweet Margaret who prepared the most lovely Charcuterie board within two hours for us to pick up and bring to our family's home. Our family was so appreciative to offer mourners who dropped by the lovely array of cheeses, dips and crackers. Thank you Herma's, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The location looks small from the outside but it is quite large on the inside. This was an amazing spot to do some Christmas shopping and to find very unique, foods, home decor, kitchen utensils, etc. I really would love to see more local food offered however that does not affect my star rating for Herma's. The service was excellent, the offering of goods was excellent and I really wish I would have gone sooner!

L	Lee Leed on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Herma's was for me an overpriced, oddly arranged, very cluttered, and difficult to move around in store falling short of upscale and lacking in unique, hard to find items. In fact, one staff member, within five minutes of me being in the store, walked over, uninvited, and told me I could easily find the items I was viewing at other stores besides Herma's. Ha what a joke! Then again hmm was that their rude and snooty way of telling me to leave? Regardless, I continued to shop and unsurprising (as another reviewer noted) they following me around the store too while white Europeans were left to roam freely- Racist much?! Well if they had time to waste following me around, I could take my little old time walking around. Toward the back of the store, the meat and cheese area was tucked off into a small, corner. Honestly, I found the smells emanating from this food area unappealing and the food display unsightly. I left this area quickly. Overall, as other reviewers have found, Herma's isn't worth the visit when you can find many of the same items elsewhere for less, you can receive better and friendly customer service elsewhere, and you won't need to travel the distance and waste your time and gas. I'll save my money and shop elsewhere!

Will venture into the hardware and trinkets eventually. Thanks so much for being there! Northumberland is warmer with you in it!
M	Meredith Ender on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Herma’s. When I go there I feel as though I’m in Europe. People often describe it as being the land of Oz in the middle of a farm in Kansas. You walk into an unassuming building and bam! there’s a magical display of merchandise all around. Herma has a way of decorating that makes it a delight to shop - actual entertainment. There aren’t just goods from Europe at Herma’s. She also has given a lot of local vendors their start and continues to support local all over Ontario. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly as well. It’s one of my favourite places and special gem within the community. There are gift items, body care, jewelry, chocolate, cheese, charcuterie, preserves and sauces galore, kitchenware, home decor and so much more. If you live in Northumberland County or are in Port Hope you won’t want to miss.
