β β β β β I had a less than stellar experience with these folks, I was interested in purchasing a horse from them but insisted on a vet check, they hauled the horse to a vet they did not use themselves (at my request) and had an unfortunate experience wherein the vet was heavyhanded and the horse became unmanageable, kicking the vet at one point. He was unable to finish the exam. We tried again, they hauled the horse to their own vet to have an exam carried out, the horse broke away from them and ran loose in the country for an hour and a half, injuring itself in the process. I had put down a $1000 dollar deposit on the purchase subject to a satisfactory vet check. I paid for the hauling, $1/km, both ways; I paid for the exam(only 1 partially carried out); I paid for 2 vaccines as the horse had never been vaccinated. Carla and Rene are quite proud of their animals and rightly so, however their training skills are not as good as they think. After the horse broke away and was injured they decided I should pay for treatments to return the horse good health. If I had been holding the horse when it got away...fair enough, I would be culpable for some of the costs. However I was in another province at the time. So, as of now I have had any of my deposit returned, the horse is being ridden again and is still up for sale. Beware, beware....I would have given them 0 stars but that is not an option. They have not paid me back any of my deposit, two months later.
