★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible experience. We asked for helped multiple times and were met with indifference. Once we even asked the sales associate whether they had an item in a different size and she just said ‘maybe’ and stood and stared at us. It very much felt like she didn’t want to bother wasting time helping us because we were people of colour.

I received a gift as a Christmas present that was defective, and the team at Fan Tan Home and Style (including the Management working that day) was quite rude and unhelpful in helping me get a refund/exchange. Very disappointing given that the store has some cute and unique items... yet I don't see myself going back ever again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my favorite shop in Victoria! So many gorgeous displays of unique items at reasonable prices. If you are looking for a gift for someone and need inspiration - definitely go to Fan Tan! You will probably end up with something amazing for yourself as well. They always have a beautifully curated selection of everything for the home, as well as jewelry, clothing... Truly something for everyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I loved the charm and aesthetic of the old location. Sadly the new spot feels like any other up market chain kitchen store. I also have a hard time when 20-something staff ask me to wear a mask “for their protection” when our city is trying to open up. Ask Bonnie Henry - you are not in danger of anything that a mask will help with. I will wait for the fear to subside and take my business elsewhere for now.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love the new location and set up. Super cute things for the home and also an adorable kids section with lots of jelly cats! This store has lots of the same items as “The Cross” in Vancouver, with a bit better price tag!
