This is a classic hotel with a ton of history. Located in a beautiful part of the country, but a little difficult to get to. There are certain areas of the hotel that are a little tired, but you expect that due to its age. The log structure and central fireplace are fantastic. The staff were great at keeping the fires going. The lobby is just such a wonderful place to hang around and unwind. We were there between seasons, so activities were a little limited, but lots of hiking and we did the electric bike guided tour, which was a ton of fun. The guide was very good and provided as much of a history lesson about the area as he did providing us with a excellent ride. We enjoyed an outdoor campfire one evening. There was only one restaurant at the hotel which made it a bit limited, but it was an easy walk to town for other options. I think that they could have done more with the lobby bar, open it as a proper Starbucks for the morning and afternoon, along with the Starbucks' food offerings and then turn it into the alcohol bar in the afternoon / evening. Overall, it was one of the great Fairmont experiences.

Beautiful hotel, very different with lots of history. Bed was extremely comfortable. Service excellent. The only reason for not having 5 stars is that certain things(room carpet) would require a refresh. Breakfast Buffet was excellent even if pricy. As for location, excellent as long as you have a car and activities in the area.

An amazing hotel, with amazing staff. I look forward to the opportunity to stay again. It'll be great to enjoy more of what the hotel has to offer once covid restrictions are lifted further. Don't forget to head to town and get some amazing cheese and chocolate, as well as any other shops and restaurants!

Terrific weekend getaway! The daily activity fee provided plenty of options for all weather conditions. Be sure to score a couch by a fire and ask Patrick for some games! Breakfast on site was delicious. The dinners were a bit of a miss given the prices, but the service was attentive and thoughtful.

The entire experience was disappointing. At $500 a night, I expected much more. The restaurant was fully booked for dinner over a week in advance. With no other option, you're forced to eat in your room. Most of the "included" activities were all sold out. We paid extra for a deluxe room only to find the beds in God-awful shape. Your beds visibly sunk in the middle and where hard as a rock. It made for an awful sleep. i expect at luxury prices you would have a comfortable bed. the one redeemable feature was the staff, they where truly wonderful

The hotel is not worth $400 a night: 1. The cleanliness of the hotel room was not in place. I found socks worn by other costumer(maybe) next to the bedside table. 2. The food price in the hotel restaurant is high, but the food is very ordinary. And they impose HST Provincial accommodation tax, which is very absurd. This hotel is only suitable for sitting in the lobby. The lobby of this hotel is really beautiful. There are five stars in the hotel lobby and half a star in the hotel accommodation.

By far the warmest welcome I have ever received at a hotel. I was a guest here as a part of a wedding party, where both the guests and primary party were very well received and accommodated. The grounds are beautiful, but if I'm being horribly honest I spent a goodly portion of my time greeting the "Ambassador" for the hotel; an adorable golden retriever with a small dog house in the main central area. I have been actively looking for opportunities to return at some point, where I plan to try to see if a much longer stay cannot be arranged. Silly to some perhaps, but there is no warmer welcome than a wagging tail to go along with excellent accommodations and service. From beginning to end it was the best stay at a hotel I have ever experienced. I (quite literally) cannot recommend it highly enough. The dog is excellently trained, calm, and will not approach if you don't entice it, so if you are allergic or have other reasons for not wanting to involve yourself with the Ambassador's business dealings then you will still be able to enjoy the facilities unimpeded. Ever since this stay highlighted to me that this configuration of "Ambassador" was even an option for a hotel stay, I have been actively seeking it out in other cities I find myself traveling to.

Everything was excellent, staff was exceptional and this place is beautiful and so nostalgic. Room was updated but they have kept some original charm, lobby was beautiful and we loved how guests were using the lobby to relax and play games etc. what a treat, dinner was great and the spa treatment was wonderful. We will definitely be going back when the lobby bar is open so that we get to enjoy the full experience. Thank you for restoring my faith in great customer service.
