Not enough staff. Patients lack efficient care. It's all glorified at the beginning but once a patient is in there. The truth of care lacks.

Absolutely fantastic staff. They really care. Facility is clean. If there are issues, you identify them, and they will deal with them. Initially went to another place that was much more expensive, and it was a disaster. This place was amazing in comparison.

Snehal P. and Jay have been an awesome pair helping me to try and get walking again realizing I haven’t walked for over a year but the overall help with the therapy has helped tremendously I am very able to walk not straight up but a few steps and continuing to have therapy will just improve more I can only say thanks to both and Jay’s continuing help I AM SO VERY PLEASED with the results. My mother-in-law (R.) stayed at Extendicare Brampton for over a year until she recently died. Our family made a decision, against our (one son and daughter-in-law's) wishes to move here there. The basic staff was ok, attentive enough when she was relatively well, but the place itself is drab and unattractive. Then, at the age of 99 she broke her hip. Again, we did not want her moved back but were assured by the director of healthcare, Rosemary, that my mother-in-law would be given excellent pallative care. Not so. As the weeks wore on and R. came closer to dying, the house doctor, and Rosemary, refused to stop feeding R., as per her wishes, and kept her alive in pain for many days. It is too much to detail here the awfulness of what occurred but I would warn anyone thinking about this place to please look for another.

My Father was at Extendicare Brampton for about six months during the last stages of ALS. When I found out what facility he was being placed at, I read the online reviews, and, seeing the score I was a little worried. But there was nothing to worry about. I consider Extendicare Brampton and its staff to be a blessing to my Father and my family. While at Extendicare, my Father had to be taken to hospital for an infection and my Mom and I were worried about how he'd feel returning back to long term care. We were surprised to find he was delighted to be back at Extendicare and that the staff were equally delighted to see him returned and in better health. This is a testament not only to the depth of care the staff is capable of, but also their ability to make a facility feel like a home to its residents. One staff member, Venice, went out of her way to check on my Father. At home, I was the one who would translate what my Father was saying when no one else could understand. At Extendicare, it was Venice. On my Father's last day, she stopped by a few times, asking permission to enter. But in my mind, she did not need to ask because I consider her family, along with Sonia, Rosemarie, Lisa, Ruby, Nancy, Benjamin, Dora, and all the others who came to care for my Father in ways I never even saw, but could witness in the way they felt about each other. Was someone at his side 24/7? No. Did everything always go perfectly? No. I think some people have unrealistic expectations about what long term care can do. But I think the attitude of the resident (when it's possible) and their family matters as well. My Father thanked the Extendicare staff for every little thing they did, even when he could no longer get the words out and they loved him for it. And I love them too. Thank you, Extendicare.

My mother-in-law was transferred to Extendicare Brampton for convalescence after ankle replacement surgery. I was supposed to meet her there but I got lost trying to find it! My only complaint is the lack of signage! Needless to say, I was a little exasperated by the time I found it. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with sunny smiles, empathy for my frustrations and genuine care and they were just the same for my mother-in-law. Everyone from the cleaners to the psw’s, nurses, physiotherapists and social workers went above and beyond to make my mother-in-lawβ€˜s stay comfortable and productive. They truly care. Through their commitment she has rehabbed in record time. I would highly recommend this home. After reading some of the other reviews and my own experiences with my mother in a long-term care home, it’s not a palace outside but inside it’s clean, comfortable and filled with staff that enjoy their jobs. I can’t say enough kind things about this home.

I resenting moved my mom from a retirement home in Mississauga to Extendicare Brampton...My moms dementia was getting worse and she was needing more care which was getting ridiculously costly. The care was worse not better...after time we were on a waiting list and were accepted at Extendicare Brampton... Well I have to tell you how welcoming the staff was and the cleanliness of the facility, actually seeing staff around. Not smelling urine all the time. The amenities are great!! Thanks so much to the nursing staff for your love and care!! Thanks to each and everyone of you all. Thanks Teresa and Todd Mary Lesiaks family
