There were several troubles I had with the wifi and it seemed there wasn’t much permanent action being taken until my family and I reached out to Mark Silver who had the issue solved in less then a day and was very kind, accommodating, and understanding. My experience at envie has been overall fantastic and I appreciate the help given by Mark Silver. Thank you!

Envie Student is a convenient and affordable place of residence that does good by and tries to accommodate its tenants. This is my second year of staying here, and there are good reasons for this. The building is beautiful, just finished last year. The kitchen is fully-stocked with appliances, which is a godsend to my pastry-baking ass. The bedrooms are a decent size, and all of them have a private en-suite washroom, which is literally the best thing ever. Envie hosts regular events throughout the school year: fitness classes, field trips, and holiday meals are just some of the things I’ve seen. They’re a good way to get out and meet people, or just to have a good time. The community is really open and friendly. Envie Insiders, the Facebook group for the building, is the place to solicit use of niche appliances, ask questions, and plan an impromptu movie night if you’re so inclined. The Penthouse common area, which includes a storm of couches, a large four-monitor TV, and a full kitchen, is always open for use upon request. There are usually promotions and discounts for the ambitious resident, which are always good to take advantage of. The lobby itself has a few notable conveniences. The café, which serves sandwiches and coffee to students rushing to their 8am; the mailroom; and of course the Grab’n’Go, which is a 24/7 convenience store that has a little bit of everything. You use your fob to enter and the self-checkout to pay; it only accepts cards, but you can link your card to your fingerprint. Also worth mentioning is the gym. It’s a little small, which doesn’t lend itself to group workouts or anything more involved than stationary movements, but the machines are all state-of-the-art and more than enough for the casual workout. If that’s not enough, your university or the YMCA on Argyle both offer free admittance to students. The security is top-notch. Every entrance needs one of the RFID fobs to get in, and both the suite and bedroom doors can be locked. Security personnel responds quickly to complaints, which is invaluable during the first week when parties are common. The maintenance crew is similarly speedy. You submit a request online and someone stops by; I’ve never had to wait more than a day. They're friendly, courteous, and sincerely dedicated to helping you resolve any issues you have. The Carling O-Train station is only a small walk down the street, barely two minutes in the morning. I attend Carleton University, and leaving half an hour before class gives me ample time to get to school. OttawaU is a little further away, about half an hour on public transit, but that’s still better than most other places. The train also goes to the Greenboro shopping plaza; groceries, electronics, books, and much more can be found there. The Denny’s that used to be in that plaza is sadly closed down, but I suppose you can’t have everything. Nothing worth visiting is more than an hour away via public transit, and there are also a variety of options for public bike rental. If you have your own, Envie has bike storage in the basement, complete with a ramp outside. The neighborhood is beautiful. Little Italy is a five minute walk away and has a plethora of adorable and affordable places to eat and shop. You won’t find any clubs there, or at least I haven’t, but on the flip side that means it’s quiet at night. Across the street is Dow’s Lake, which is beautiful to rent a paddleboat on in the summer and I think plays host to skating in the winter. In conclusion, Envie Student is a beautiful place of residence that is very affordable for the average student and has a large, active community that is always down for a last minute kegster. I highly recommend it to everybody, be they fresh out of frosh or eyeball deep in independent research.

Had a really great time living here for a year. Price is totally worth it if your okay with less space, and provided you have good roommates. I had one roomy out of two who sucked and never cleaned up after himself and smoked weed all the time, but if you talk to management about it they will help you out as much as they can. Marina and the rest of the staff at the from desk and maintenance are all great to deal with and interact with on a day to day basis. Also, the closet system changed my life :). The ping pong net could be replace more often though, and the apartments always seemed to be too cold in morning and too hot at night, so you have to constantly change the thermostat. Overall, great memories!

Love living at here! Very convenient to go to school, and have everything including the fridge, washer and dryer, a nice kitchen prepared in the room. People in this building are nice too! Lovely, I’ll definitely recommend my friends to Envie!

For the past few weeks, I have had multiple instances with the management of Envie that have left me very frustrated. First, I was trying to book a tour date for me and my friends who are interested in living in Envie for the next school year, after many phone calls and emails and no one answered. Me and my friend decided to go in person and only then did we get to talk to someone. My group of friends decided we were really interested in living at envie and we emailed them over a week ago.... no one has answered yet. This is extremely frustrating! The bad communication from the management is making us no longer interested in the place and leaves a horrible first impression.

This is an awful place to live, do not live here unless you know who you are rooming with. Management is not helpful unless they need you to pay, they take advantage of the fact that everyone is a student and turn a blind eye to your needs unless you keep escalating. This ruined my academic experience, and I genuinely cannot begin to put into words how awful my academic year was as a result of terrible management, and terrible staff. Also there wasn't even staff stationed at the desk for move-in day.. It's way too expensive. Check out other studio apartments in the area, and you will find it for much cheaper.

I wish there was a 0 star option. DO NOT LIVE HERE. The management is awful. On my floor, people constantly party, smoke in the halls and have repeatedly threatened me. As a young women I feel so unsafe in my home. Being threatened by people in the building, having packages stolen, being unable to breathe because of the other residents smoking and then some. I have tried to BEG management for help, and they refuse to take action. It's gotten to the point where they have even blocked my email. This is an unsafe place to live. They overcharge for rent and then treat people like rodents. Especially if you're a young women. Their slogan should be "Harassment. Unsafe. Torture" Do NOT LIVE HERE if you care about doing well in your career, school, life or health.

I have lived at Envie for 5 months and I really appreciate the management team. The monthly events are well organized and keeping everyone happy in the building. We appreciate the managements ability to empathize with their tenants in these difficult times. Yes it gets pretty loud with nearby construction but at least our management keeps us informed.
