Gym is supposed to open at 9 on Saturdays. I arrived at 9:30 to several customers standing around in the hall and several more turning tail and leaving. Left myself at 9:40. Still not open. This was my first visit to an Energie Cardio location. Not a good impression.

My friend and I were in Montreal for a few days, but were looking for gyms as we’ll be back in a month or so and staying for an extended period of several months. We found Energie Cardio on Google Maps and I’m glad we took the time to go check it out. The front desk team was super nice and helpful, especially Marie Laurence— I hope the management recognizes what a great employee Marie is. The gym itself is kept spotlessly clean, has every machine you might need for either cardio or weight training, and I went at multiple times over the course of several days and never found the gym to be too full or crowded. The changing rooms are clean, hot showers and plenty of lockers (bring your own lock). I didn’t have a chance to try any of the group classes here, but they were very popular so if you’re into classes you’ll love Energie Cardio. Highly recommend this place. Great gym. Prices are very reasonable for long or short stays (they have weekly passes). And hopefully if you go you’ll cross paths with Marie Laurence because she’s the best!!

The place is generally very clean and well-maintained although there is no natural light. Two things that I noted, which may or may not be a trend: 1. I was once followed by a staff member to make sure I walked around the gym with a towel. I did not see them forcing this on other people (may be wrong), nor forcing this on other days. I have also never been disallowed into another gym just because I did not have a towel. I will not claim discrimination here, but it was a weird experience. 2. They may yell at you if you use the phone inside the locker room. This was strange because I needed to check some work messages. Classes get a little crowded because of the small room, but the equipment is nice.

Great place to workout but lunch time during the week, it gets very crowded. Other than that, it has a great atmosphere. It is also located nearby grocery stores and it's at place-des-arts which is a phenomenal location for entertainment and gaining a piece of mind.

In a basement, small, empty at 1 on a Friday, well maintained, friendly staff, was hard to find.

I went to this gym while in town, because it has partnership with my home gym. I was disappointed only because it was very very small. They had lots of cardio equipment and as for weight lifting, they pretty much had only one of each. One bench press, one squat rack, one pec deck, etc. So it can get busy and crowded very easy. There is not much free space for deadlifts, walking lunges, kettle bell swings (if they even have kettlebels), etc. Staff was nice and polite. I thought it was clean and tidy. So in conclusion, its in between decent hotel gym and proper gym. If you want to have super serious harcore weightlifting workout, it's not for you. If you just need to move around and lift few weights while visiting, it should be fine.

I have to share my overall experience because COVID is of course a unique time, and the customer service I received was exceptional, particularly by Pierre, the manager. Since the March closure, I had not been to the gym a single time. I had called in March to suspend my membership, but it went to voicemail, and I did not receive a call back. Coincidentally, my credit card had expired in February. To them, I stopped the payments, and to me, they stopped the payments. I received a call last week (late October) by Cécile (who was friendly and understanding) essentially chasing the missed payments. We had a polite disagreement on how the COVID period payments should be handled, and we deferred the conversation until after she had consulted with her manager. Today, I called in and Pierre picked up the phone. He was patient, good-natured, understanding, and extremely professional. I half-expected the conversation to be difficult and confrontational, so I braced myself. What happened was the opposite. Pierre clearly laid out my options and helped me cancel my membership as though I had cancelled in March. His positive attitude helped take a huge stress off my shoulders concerning this outstanding balance and contract. He is a real asset to this branch of Énergie Cardio - world class customer service. The gym itself is well equipped, but rather small-mid size, and during pre-COVID, was a bit packed during popular hours. If you planned around the peak hours, it was a good experience with friendly staff. I personally never encountered any hyper-aggressive or territorial gym-goers. Budget-friendly as well. Would recommend if the location is convenient for you.

not affiliated to GoodLife fitness even if they say they are. they only give you 12 free passes. hours are limited. small gym. a bit dark. not enough equipment. I think it's a gym for grandparents. the upside to this is that the gym is always empty in the mornings.
