Had the pleasure of taking my EMR course with them in September/October this year. Great instructors that taught content in a way that was easy to understand! The mixture of lecture and scenarios really made it so that everything was drilled into our heads! Really hoping to get into PCP here as well!

Emergency Services Academy was an incredible school to attend. If it gave me the option to choose 10 stars I would. I was fortunate enough to attend ESA for their Fire Program back in 2018. I had an unbelievable experience. At ESA I had the opportunity to learn so much from their knowledgeable and well respected staff and instructors. A lot of their instructors either work for Strathcona County Emergency Services, Edmonton Fire Rescue, Calgary Fire Department and many others. Being that all of the instructors came from different departments gave students the chance to learn different skills in a multitude of ways from highly trained, well respected professionals. Both management and the instructors at ESA were always very approachable, personable and down to earth people. Whenever I had questions regarding anything, the instructors would always be more than happy to answer my questions and if they happened to not know the answer off of the top of their head, they would always find out for me. Attending ESA really made me feel at home and part of a family. From the second I walked into the doors, they welcomed me in with open arms. Being that I am from Calgary, it was so nice to be apart of such a positive, family-oriented place. I am happy to say that I still keep in contact with a lot of my classmates as well as management and instructors. You know it is a positive place to attend when instructors are willing to keep in touch with you after your program has concluded to help you along the way to get hired or to answer whatever questions that may arise in your career. ESA gave me such a strong base layer of all skills needed to work in Emergency Services. After my first shift on the floor, I can honestly say that I felt more then well prepared for whatever the day might bring me. I also thought I would note that I attended ESA’s PCP program this past summer and how I felt about the Fire Program is exactly how I felt with the PCP program. Fantastic atmosphere, knowledgeable instructors and I am so fortunate that management was able to keep the doors open during the pandemic, so that I could continue on my journey to become a fully certified firefighter/PCP In short, a huge thanks to all management, staff, and instructors for helping shape me so that I can be the best First Responder I can be.

Took the PCP course here, I was in the COVID class where they started to do zoom sessions and in class portions (which were awesome, and I'm glad it was done this way as many of the lessons were taught extremely well over video). The instructors changed regularly which ended up have some contradictory information (not a lot, just a few things) but in my opinion this is a major strength as it shows you several different perspectives from many different people with different experiences. Good amount of hands on in the classroom with opportunities to get more hands on when there was time. I've recommended one of my friends to ESA so far and he also loved it. Jodie was an awesome teacher throughout this program and understood what it took to get the students to understand what we were supposed to be learning. Adam gave the most insightful words to me after a scenario was ran out in the parking, which changed the way I viewed, and understood how to run scenarios. Becky pushed the students to be better with very memorable scenarios that had great feedback afterwards. If you're considering going to ESA, know that they will set you up with everything that you need to be successful in their course.

I attended ESA for my Professional Firefighter certifications in August of 2020. The school, instructors and faculty were all great. All of the instructors are experienced full time firefighters/paramedics. They were very knowledgeable and always more than willing to spend extra time on topics that I didn't fully understand. The live fire training in Vermillion was incredible. We spent hours training and going through live fire scenarios in our platoons. Not only did I build lasting relationships with my classmates, but I also left with good references, which have come very handy when applying for jobs! I highly recommend ESA for anyone interest in pursuing a career in emergency services .

I attended ESA for the enhanced fire program this August and I was nothing but pleased with my experience. All the staff at ESA were helpful in my questions prior to the course and anytime during while I was attending. The overall learning experience was beyond my expectations and I will be going back to attend more courses. A great place to learn but also a great place to make life long connections with your fellow students and instructors.

I attended the PCP program in Jan 2021 and can’t say enough about how well the school accommodated the pandemic restrictions. I was a bit nervous of how learning would be with the restrictions but I felt the staff and instructors gave us the best learning environment they could and felt well prepared for practicum. The instructors are friendly, supportive and very approachable. The office staff are friendly and promptly replied to any questions I had. I highly recommend ESA to anyone looking for a career in the emergency services.

I was a student in the ESA Professional Firefighter Enhanced Program August 2021. From the very beginning ESA staff have been professional and extremely helpful. The admin staff made registration and enrolment a seamless process and organized everything in Vermillion for live fire training very well, to the point that students were able to simply show up and focus on learning and not have to worry about logistics. Throughout the program the instructors were very knowledgable and helpful. This program demanded the best from everyone but also delivered the best. I cannot recommend ESA enough to anyone looking to pursue a career in emergency services.

Professional, organized, and focused. I decided to attend the Enhanced Firefighting Program in August 2021 and never regretted my decision. The instructors were diverse, knowledgeable, and truly committed to see every student succeed. The program was both professional and equipping and there was never any question as to what was expected of us. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to enter a career in professional firefighting.
