About Mr. Antoine Michel

Antoine Michel completed nearly a decade in multi-discipline training in France, offering therapy to both adults and children. He completed six years of full-time training in Osteopathy with continuance in gynecological, obstetrical and perinatal surgery observance. His passion for health and wellness led him to teach in Paris for several years.

Today, he practices in Calgary, Alberta with Ellipse Therapy and is registered with the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists. Ellipse Therapy is Antoine’s dream practice that he built from the ground up to offer Osteopathic manual therapy to people from all walks of life.

Antoine highly values providing much-needed care for children, having spent three additional years of training with pediatricians. Since beginning his practice in Calgary, he has collaborated with breastfeeding clinics across the city, helping infants, young children, and their parents navigate through their formative years.

Antoine and his team treat a range of health needs, including gut health, craniosacral therapy, and visceral manipulation. Each patient receives a personalized program that identifies and outlines the plan needed to treat joint discomfort, back and neck pain, and shoulder dysfunctions. Antoine operates his practice with a patient-first philosophy; a guiding principle that has established a strong reputation with his patients and other health practitioners.

My children (in their 20's) have also been treated by him. We jokingly refer to his treatments as "magic"! But there is no trickery - as he always explains the treatment in his best "Frenglish"! Over a few treatments with him (as he prides himself in that his practice is meant to treat people, not create repeat customers), he has explained to me that his training to become an Osteopath in France, takes much longer, and is much more rigorous, compared to the training required to become an Osteopath in North America - and he's explained this without even a hint of any stereotypical "French arrogance"! Having extensive training in France he truly knows what he is doing. I have recommended Antoine to 2 different friends and both have come back and asked me "what kind of magic does he use" because after only one treatment they both received tremendous relief. I am not suggesting your aliments will require only a one treatment - I am only suggesting that he knows what he is doing and treats beyond the symptoms. If you are looking to try Osteopathy or looking for an Osteopath, Antoine is great.

I have to say that the setting of Ellipse Therapy is very beautiful, calm and spa-like. I've been a proponent of chiropractics for most of my life and I am fairly new to osteopathic treatments. The work that Antoine has done for me has been incredible, and somewhat shocking. Antoine goes above and beyond to explain his findings and the treatment he is providing. Treatment is unlike chiropractics and unlike physio. It's gentle and holistic. Antoine shows genuine interest and concern for his patients and his body of knowledge and experience is vast. Antoine has been treating me for a long time and when we first met I was pain free for the first time in nearly 10 years. When we first met I saw him regularly as I was a problematic case. Since then, I see Antoine very rarely for an occasional "tune up". The sessions are a delight and Antoine does an exceptional job in explaining every part of the treatment so I can understand what he is doing and how it affects my body. I highly recommend making sure you are free for an hour or two after the session for a restorative nap after the treatment. It truly does wonders to help the body heal!
