★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was very surprised to be greeted by such a cold and unfriendly front desk agent after hearing how accommodating and kind the staff at this gym are. I'm not interested in a membership at a big gym (such as GoodLife), so I wanted to check out Elgin Fitness. Upon entering the gym, the front desk agent did not greet me and barely looked at me. I approached her first and said I was interested in trying the gym out and potentially in a membership, if I had a good experience. She flatly told me "no, we don't do that." I assured her that I wasn't asking for free access, but to pay a drop-in fee. Once again, she simply told me "we don't do that." I clarified that I would have to pay a full membership fee to even try out the gym and she said yes. I wasn't about to pay $60 for a 1-month membership at a gym I haven't even gotten to see or try out. I wasn't even offered a tour of the facility or shown the rates. So, I left.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We love Elgin Fitness and the vibe they bring to the fitness community. No locked in contracts or sales tactics. Month to month options which are reasonably priced (note: 4 month minimum) and a clean environment with good people. This is what a community gym is!
