Selection, thats what sets this bar apart from the mass bombardment of generic bars that litter the elgin bar scene. Prices are okay, little overpriced for the product you are getting specially when you compare it to the drinking scene as a big picture. Flights are something every bar should offer and deacons does it right for people looking to expand their portfolio of what they like and do not. Live music is a great bonus and the train that used to go around would make me happy. I would love to see a more open concept to the floor layout over the old 90's era cubicle atmosphere. All in all a good pub that could use a face-lift.

I like the set up and the kilts. Miss the toy train that used to circle along the ceiling track. Well priced weekend brunch with a big mug of coffee thrown in. Had the egg Benny one week and the Belgian waffles the next week. Both underwhelmed. But great service.

I enjoyed an early casual weeknight supper in the comfortable pub environment. My "go to" meal at Deacon Brodies is the Vegetarian Samosa Sandwich with an upgrade to their onion rings and it didn't disappoint. The beer selection was good and I tried a new-to-me beer which I really enjoyed, and the service was friendly.

Sour Pepsi, bland food. Service was good though and a great sunny patio.

With over 400 bottles of whiskey Deacon Brodies Pub is hands down the place to go for those want to broaden their whiskey knowledge. There is also a nice selection of beer for those who are not the whiskey type. It has become a regular place I attend due to its proximity to my place but more importantly because of the wonderful staff (especially Jamie who you can find working her butt off behind the bar to make sure her customers are taken care of) and friendly group of regulars. If you enjoy live music, the local artists that play at Deacon's are also exceptional.

Great place for a good meal at a decent price. If you're in the area, stop by and try the deep fried mac and cheese balls. One of the best things I've ever eaten.

This pub is great!! Filled to the brim, every table full of guest having fun, food, and drink. Other places were turning guest away for capacity issues for covid reasons, but not this place... filled to the brim. The food was ok, but no one cares.. the drinks were coming all evening while live music was playing. Fun place to be at.

Portions are small, I ordered Bangers and Mash, I had 1 cut up sausage, spread around plate with just Mash and gravy, it's not a french cuisine restaurant!! My partner had turkey dinner, that was cold and 2 turkey pieces that were small, very small servings. Supposed to come with a lemon meringue pie. We was told it was sold out so it was replaced by pumpkin pie which we did not like. Would have been nice and polite to give a replacement dessert as it really is not our fault that it was sold out. We ended up not taking the dessert even tho it was offered as part of the meal. Our overall experience of the food portions is very mean. Beer was good, but unfortunately we will not be returning.
