★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Alex has been my mechanic since I started using instaMek. He’s is great with my car both very professional and diligent. My car always runs great especially now because he fixed to entire undercarriage. Now he just comes out a few times a year for swap overs and maintenance. Oh and my dog likes him too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My battery was dead. I called around noon and mechanic came by 1 pm- exactly on time. Saved me alot of time and hassle. Mechanic was friendly and replaced my battery quickly. Very happy with everything.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I needed new ball joints and have young children at home so going to a dealership/garage would be hard to organize, I found instamek and booked a convenient time, Robert McDonald arrived on time and was great to deal with, informative and completed the work quickly and even answered my toddlers never ending questions!
Very happy overall and will continue to use and recommend instamek.
(Just an FYI if you supply your own parts there is no warranty from instamek and the shop rate increases by $20 an hour which I did not think was fair)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The mechanic, Grant, who came out in the morning was awesome. He gets a 10/10.
The reason for my 3 star rating is for 2 reasons.
1. When I called and asked for a quote, I had asked to be quoted for the cost of replacing my front and back brakes. As well as a set of 4 winter tires. My regular mechanic quoted me $1,200 for everything. So when InstaMek quoted me $1,199 with the prime membership discount, I decided to go with InstaMek.
What I didn't realize is that the quote from InstaMek didn't include the cost to replace the brakes, as per my request. But rather only included the cost of the brake inspection. If I had known that, I would have booked the work through my regular mechanic and saved myself the $400.
To be fair, this is partially my fault. I should have read the quote more carefully. But I do wish I would have been quoted for the replacement of front and back breaks prior to booking the work.
2. When the tire guy showed up to put on the set of winter tires, he was unaware that he had to pick up the tires first. He was under the impression that we already had tires for him to put on. So he then had to leave to go pick them up and come back to put them on. Delaying the work by almost an hour.
Overall the experience was not what I would have expected. Especially considering I wound up paying more than $400 extra than what my mechanic would have charged me. I don't mind paying a little extra for the convenience of having InstaMek come out to me....but the lack of communication, and missed expectations leaves room for improvement.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was wonderful service. Showed up right at scheduled time and Mek completed job (breaks, rotars, battery) in 1.5 hrs. Convienience and price at InstaMek is much better than dealership/shop service. Will be using and recommending to friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ $10 a month is a steal for a couple of free inspections a year. I've done a few house calls with Instamek now and the mechanics have always been pretty great. I saw Grant this time, he gave me a lot of advice pro-bono which I really appreciated.
My one complaint: They can't generally do repairs on vehicles older than 20 years due to insurance restrictions, so that has been a bit of a pain at times.
