I’ve flown through many airports around the world. Each have their quirks, pros, and cons. This particular airport is actually quite decent. There are several decent restaurants in the domestic wing and the security is well controlled. The car rental return was a little bit confusing, but this was a minor complaint.

Not sure if short staffed ir unprepared but edmonton is definitely not what is used to be. . . The security check in line reached all the way down the passed the beginning of the air canada check in desks. The cherry on top was the dog they left barking non-stop for 1hr….

Not too busy, which is very good when you are traveling. there is a restaurant in the 2nd floor, a Tim's and circleK at the ground floor, a skyway bridge connects to Renaissance Hotel which is a good option

Really nice airport. Small but really cosy. There is a great choice of restaurants and stores. Maybe I was lucky but there was really few people.

Pretty nice airport. Has a good range of facilities available in both airside and landslide. Perks: The landslide even has a terrace lookout for spotting plains on the main runway. The bathrooms are pretty clean and dΓ©sinfectant is available at almost every corner. Different expos and drawings make it feel even more interesting and can keep you entertained for some time while waiting for a flight. Also, 2 lounges (maple leaf and premium plaza) are available at the moment of writing, though with reduced working hours. Overnight: Spending the night is only possible in landside, but one could find in abundance chairs without arms in-between. Tip: the best place to spend the night is in departure at the region of US departure which has carpeted floor for people preferring to lay down or movable chairs to form a hidden bed. Transportation: The airport can be reached with the public bus 747 which goes to the Terminus of both metro lines. It costs 5$ and can be payed only in cash to the driver without change. There is a change machine just at the exit of the terminal to use to Γ©change bigger notes. Also, it provides no ticket so you may need to take the metro for an additional 3.5$/ticket till downtown. The car rental unit is in another building just over the road. It can be reached either by outside or crossing through a bridge from departure floor.

I love Canada. I've visited too many times to count during my lifetime. I have many Canadian friends and one of my closest friends is Canadian. At one point, we lived exactly 100 miles apart from doorstep to doorstep on opposite sides of the border in WA and BC. I was there at least once a month and he came to visit at least one time a month. I love the beautiful scenery, the great food and the friendly people. I love the Europe-Lite feel when you're there. Despite all of this, I'm sad to say that Canada does not want your business or tourism dollars any longer. I started to notice that the border and airports were no longer very welcoming some time ago and this has just gotten progressively worse. I was surprised the first time I encountered a surly and unfriendly border guard a few years back but now, I've just come to expect it. Flying in to Edmonton last week, I was very frustrated with the system to scan your documents, which did not work well at all. I scanned and scanned and finally they went through after repeated tries and me hitting the brink of frustration. I was also irritated that after "The Science" showed that COVID had become endemic, I still had to pay $130 for a test to prove i didn't have it in addition to providing my vaccine card when I checked in for my flight. They wouldn't even let me on the plane in Las Vegas without those items. My Passport and Nexus card were practically an afterthought. The cost of everything in the country is just obscene now and I was told that if I thought flying in to Edmonton international was unpleasant, gird my loins for the departure. I was also compelled to pay for an additional COVID test to return to my own country per order of the Canadian government, which took another hour of my time in addition to costing me money. When leaving Las Vegas, I didn't even have to pull my computer and iPad out of my bag before running it through security. At YEG, I had to and then the security people did something I've never had happen anywhere. I'm not saying I've never had annoying experiences going through security before. I always have electronics and power cords with me. I'm saying that this was astonishingly bad and the security people were monumentally rude and disrespectful. After my first pass through security, they took my carefully packed and organized computer backpack and emptied it's entire contents into multiple trays and re-ran them through the ex-ray machine. They confiscated the lighter portion of a zippo lighter I was carrying and acted annoyed when I asked them for the casing back because it was sentimental to me. They were rude and spoke down to me at several different points and scolded me for having ice in my water bottle even though I'd drained the liquid out of it. They acted as if they were doing me a favor letting me through at all. I finally got angry and told them that the way they were acting was unacceptable. They seemed annoyed when I mentioned that I'd flown all over Europe and never had such an invasive, rude experience or even close to it. They just shrugged it off and said they were not Europe. They even seemed annoyed that I had even said it. I pointed out that I had flown all over the US as well and this was ridiculous. They informed me that this is why YEG is the safest airport in the world and then turned their backs on me and walked away. I'm sure that the folks who run Be Gurion Airport in Israel would have something to say about that. I told them that was not true but they just ignored me.

Have visited this airport numerous times over the years. Great airport with quite a bit of restaurants to choose from and bars if you want to get a drink before or after your flights. Gift shops and book store available as well. Pretty organized on their flight locations with monitors everywhere and signage as well. Information booths to assist you if you get lost. Karts available for luggage which don’t require payment. Clean facility bathrooms and floors cleaned often. Lots of parking available in the parks department as well as the front door but at a higher hourly rate due to convenience. Gas station located just outside the airport for your vehicle to top up. Airport could use a little bit more activities to pass the time by though. Bonus: I like the waste management here environmentally friendly.
