About Edison Properties
1964In 1964, the 100 suite General Grant building was the first large venture project undertaken by Martin Bergen. In the years that followed, the company achieved a number of firsts; Marlborough Developments was first in Winnipeg to construct an all-electric building; first in Canada to utilize pre-cast/hollow-core floor construction (L&B Towers), and first to construct a building entirely of pre-cast units, craned into position as was done at Oakland Gardens (circa 1978).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rents are skyrocketing, way above Rentalsman rates..heard that there was a new "hotel"lobby in at 85 Gary(the one with the revolving restaurant) ....0 improvements for existing tenants. As suites empty out they are being gutted and remodeled with enormous rent increases.
Large 1 BR now 1277 a month plus electric heat/light and parking. Many seniors and disabled moving out....20 Garry street is no longer a seniors /disabled building....many younger (working) tenants moving in with the higher end rates.
The sound of construction, almost constant.
Was a great and affordable place when Mr. Bergen was in charge....but he has not been in charge since about 2013/14.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recently moved to 41 Clayton Drive. Resident managers are so helpful. Deb & Janice. Our house keeper Patricia is beyond amazing . We ran into alot of dilemmas while moving in. Fridge not working properly. Walls needed to be painted. Key fobs not working. & everything gets done. Def how a residential apartments should be run.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not give these crooks your money. They will increase your rent 8-12% every year without doing any work to your suite and then find the most ridiculous reasons to not return your deposit (the 10 year old carpet had slight damage).
Worst rental company ever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1335 Henderson hwy needs to be updated, I feel sorry for the tenants horrible ventilation, air conditioning, broken baseboard heaters that are a fire hazard. Dusty AC units above ceiling never get cleaned proper. Ac leaks on ceiling tile. Horrible air quality. Bathroom exhaust system is non existent. Elevators are out of date and need repair/ replacement. The list goes on. Get your act together soon, people are not going to want to rent like this. Most are elderly and are too sick to really say anything about it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I found 135 Niakwa Rd. to be a pleasant place to live. The manager, caretaker and other employees take exellent care of it. Its very clean and I like how bright the hallways and laundry room are. I always felt safe. Whenever there was anything needing fixing in my apartment it was cared for right away. As I did not have a car, I really liked being close to grocery stores, bus routes, the Y, the library. I love the rec room, the library, the seniors club the roof top garden. It was a good place to spend 8 years and there are a lot of people I will miss. Oh and being by the river I like the mini forest and wildlife and the path going past and to the trail aling Fermor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After heavy investigating out of various properties associated with apartments in Winnipeg. I jumped at the opportunity with Edison properties at the Oakland Gardens.
I have never lived in an apartment my entire life, Watta and Gabriel deserve tremendous credit and kudos for their hard work! Please pass the words because they are extremely accommodating and always addressing questions ! Rooms are maintained very well and very clean

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I lived at edison at the fort Garry place and I loved the amnaties included. But what put them on top of other rentals was their mantanince and being prompt with fixing issues that arise in the apartment. I also value the cleanliness.
