The Canadian garment industry recognizes and honours it's European roots when it comes to quality, professionalism and work schedules. Here are a few tips that will help make your suit buying experience a whole lot easier.
when your first arrive to shop for wedding suits, you'll have two choices: an off-the-rack suit or a custom suit
an off-the-rack suit can be purchased and specifically tailored in store by our team of expert tailors, with a turn around time of 2 - 3 weeks. We usually carry about 200 off-the-rack suits at any given time, each with it's own unique fit, fabric style and details.
a custom suit is built to your exact body specifications - a custom pattern is created based on your body measurements. You'll have your choice of fabrics, cuts and finer details included in the process. A custom suit will take approximately 3 - 5 weeks to be built at the factory and shipped to the store, and then add fitting and tailoring time after that.

many manufacturers shut down their factories for the month of July, as is custom in Europe. If you are planning an August or September wedding, it's best to start your suit search in April or May

Many grooms can not only see and feel the difference between a rented suit and a purchased suit - they show it through their confidence. Comfortable to wear, a well made suit can last up to 10 years, only needing slight alterations from time to time - a worthwhile investment.

Most recently though, I contacted them to inquire about finding me a mens tie with blue butterflies on it for a family funeral that was in 5 days. They did not have any in the store but looked at all of their suppliers and found me one!!!! It was overnighted from Toronto and got to me a day early. I cannot say how grateful I that they went out of their way so much just for a necktie. They knew how special this would be for me and served me as if I was buying a $2000 tuxedo. All for a tie. My loyalty to this store and to the Williams family will be forever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent customer service from Ed Williams' Lowell and Peter. They've curated an exceptional stock of menswear for both professional and casual wear. The patience and assistance is always appreciated - It is top notch. If you're tall with a large wingspan this is likely the only place that is going to have something fashionable that will fit. Everything is on point when it comes to style and trends. Whatever you purchase will look really, really good. It's worth noting that this is not your Grandpa's clothing store (but he can probably find something here too).

I had the pleasure of being helped by Ed himself, and from the first to the last handshake, he was respectful, not pushy and made me feel very comfortable. I purchased two incredible pieces from them today and cannot wait to try on the clothes when the tailor is done working their magic. This is the shopping experience any man would appreciate.

Greeted by Lowell and his incredibly professional, knowledgeable and friendly team, my measurements were taken seamlessly and I proceeded to be fitted for a beautiful suit. While in the store, I also updated my wardrobe with a few beautiful shirts and pants. They have one of the best selections for mens wear in Calgary and the quality is outstanding. After another fitting for my suit, I was ready for the big day and received countless complements on my attire. At the wedding, I noticed one of my guests was dressed impeccably well. Of course he too had recently shopped at Ed Williams! Love this place!
