Very kind and professional office. Everything is explained and clear and easy to understand terms. I am impressed with the work they did for both of my cataracts... thanks

We have a very bad experience from the service of Susan (the assistant who measured my eyes). She has no customer service, no respect to the seniors and translators. She yelled at us for no reason. She put us down for having English as our second language. She criticized at my granddaughter's translation. I don't recommend to come to this location.

So you overbook patients for what? I thought we were in the middle of a pandemic. People don't enjoy waiting hours on end to see a doctor for 15 seconds. never again.

Never again! This is the most ridiculous service I've ever had. 3 appointments with Dr. Buttler for checking my sight. First appointment - 30 sec. with doctor. Second: measurements only, no doctor at all ( why not to do it at first place? ) Third appointment scheduled by office in a month. Time: 8.50 a.m. I'm 57 y.o. and work overnight shift. So, I slept briefly about 4 hours only to be in time in the doctor's office at 8.50 in the morning. I came even 10 min. earlier. No cars on the parking lot and one patient in the waiting room except me. Waiting for 45 min. During this time 12 patients came and went in the office and left. I asked how long should I wait here? The receptionist responded: up to 7 hours!!! Seriously? At the beginning they made the same procedure as they did 2 previous times. What for to do the same thing over and over? Anyway, in 20 min.I started to feel pain in my eyes, my vision - blurry ( no kidding) and blood pressure is over the roof. I asked how long should I wait? And, If the doctor won't be able se me, I will leave in 10 min. No reaction. I waited for 15 min. and left with ask to send my papers to family doctor. I left the office. The receptionist called me in a 3 minutes and asked to come back and they ready to see me. But it is too late, I was on the phone with the Burnaby Hospital and was seeking for the help. That's all. This is my experience with Dr. Buttler.

Dr. Michael Butler is a fine doctor. The staff wonderful. Only I sincerely hope they change their scheduling practice! The office schedules too many people for a given time, taking hours to wait and go through a visit. At half capacity of waiting room during Covid time, people have to wait outside. On a cold October day at a morning time there are 8 patients awaiting in the cold outside their Richmond office. That doesn't feel good.

I was debating not reviewing for the last couple months, but my experience here has left me frustrated ever since. I took my mother to see Dr. Michael Butler a couple months ago, for an early appointment as I'm a student, so I needed to be at class later on. Seemed fine right? We waited 2 hours, and in a room mind you, that was packed like sardines, no COVID protocols there, that's for sure. We were about to leave when guess who comes strolling in through the door ? Dr. Michael Butler. 30 minutes later she was seen by him for a out 30 seconds It's clear this guy only cares about your eyes and not your time... he just loads up the rooms and each person is a $ Sign in his eyes. I hope he pays his staff well for taking the fall for him.

After reading some of the negative reviews, my wife wanted me to cancel the appointment. However, I also read some very good reviews about the doctor and decided to give him a try. They moved to a new location in Richmond. The waiting area in the new clinic is reasonably sized. All chairs are partitioned by plexiglass and everybody was wearing masks. I was called 15 minutes after my appointment time. As a new patient, I was interviewed by a technician about my previous medical history. He put some drops in my eyes for pupil dilation. After a 30 minute wait, another technician took me to a station with three devices which checked my eyesight and took photographs and scans of my eyes. Then I was told to wait for the doctor. He was a cheerful guy and talked rather fast but clearly, explaining the findings about my eyes. I was in for possible cataract surgery. However, he discovered a weakness in the retina on which I had an operation 20 some years ago to rectify. He said he needed to do laser surgery again on it before considering cataract surgery and scheduled an appointment with me in the coming week at his other office in Burnably (which has the equipment he needs). So all in all, my experience was very positive. I will share my experience at his other clinic later.
