S	Shelby's Shitzu on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is usually a wait here and it's pay parking. Dr. Mapeso is suppose to be a good doctor although his beside manner could use a little refresher course. First time I had a colonoscopy it wasn't this doctor and I felt nothing, let alone conversing during a colonoscopy. I usually get the meds and I'm right out. Just curious if there's some research going on to see how well tolerated it is with minimal medication, especially since Ford said he thought OHIP should cut back on sedation during a colonoscopy. I did not tolerate it well and will not do it again unless I get absolute reassurance that I will be put right out. They found a polyp but did not remove anything because of a medication that I was put on 2 weeks before this and can't stop taking it no matter what for a year. If he thinks he's going to do another colonoscopy and remove the polyp(s) with me awake he's crazy. The colonoscopy is painfull enough - burning or excising my colon is freaking ridiculous and out of the question. A year later and he couldn't find the polyps and I got less medication than last time. It was the most painfull thing I've ever had to endure and I gave birth 4 times. I was lied to and promised I would be comfortable and not aware. I was awake the whole time and very AWARE. I was gasping and crying it hurt so bad!!! I will never see this doctor again. If I could give a minus 500 I would.

His approach to each individual case by gathering all patients information and medical history is spot on. Doctor Mapeso’s surgical skills are without question, top notch and he always practices with extra caution, care and having each patient’s diagnosis front line. While meeting with Doctor Mapeso, is very clear he listens, documents, discusses with his patient both their concerns and he’s very clear what his approach to each individual is clearly understood. He is amazing at listening and making sure he understands each question or concern from his patients. I feel extremely comfortable having this amazing Doctor performing any required surgeries and after care to me. His office and staff are wonderful group of individuals that make his practice run like a fine tuned clock. Thunder Bay has been blessed to have Doctor & Mrs. Mapeso and family choose to share his medical expertise with all patients here in Thunder Bay and out lying areas. His skill and knowledge is bar none. We sure hope he knows how valued and cared about he is and appreciated beyond words! Thank u Doctor Mapeso, Grace and the most amazing Mandy caring for me so well over the years! You are all deserving of nothing but the best treatment feom clients and fellow workers alike. Stay safe, strong and healthy ! Thank you for always being there for myself and many others.
J	James B on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's no wonder there's a disclaimer on their voicemail where they won't tolerate any angry clients. The office staff is utterly incompetent. My doctor referred me here, and they screwed up my long-awaited appointment not once, but twice! The first time they called saying that I missed an appointment when I never even spoke with a live person there to confirm one in the first place. The second time, after scheduling another appointment with a receptionist, they didn't call until almost 2 hours later. I booked it for noon so that I can answer it during my lunch break. My job doesn't allow me to carry my phone around at all times, and my time is just as important as theirs. It's a shame because he might be a good surgeon (I'll never know), but his support staff leaves much to be desired. I'd rather wait for another lengthy referral from my family doctor for a different specialist instead of dealing with this sloppy office again.

I’m surprised by some of the recent reviews. The last two years the world has changed, imo we need more understanding and some accountability for our own health outcomes. I was proactive with the office if I was unsure of anything and know they’re all trying their best during these uncertain times.
