Dr. Alexis Botkin - Winnipeg

Dr. Alexis Botkin is a Dermatologist, Board Certified with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Botkin completed her undergraduate degree in science, as well as medical school, at the University of Manitoba. She completed her 5 year rigorous Dermatology Residency within Canada’s largest dermatology training program at the University of Toronto. She was selected as the chief resident in her final year. The University of Toronto training program provided world class exposure to some of the top experts in the field of dermatology. Dr. Botkin was recognized for her clinical performance and research efforts under their mentorship. She received awards for her research at the University of Toronto, receiving the Best Quality Assurance Project, two years standing, surrounding topics related to skin cancer management. Dr. Botkin was also recognized for outstanding efforts in education with the Colin A. Ramsay Resident Teacher Award.

Dr. Botkin is a published author with scientific articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals, including the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, Dermatologic Surgery, and the Journal of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association.
She has presented at the Canadian National Dermatology Conference, wherein the Canadian Professors of Dermatology awarded her the Best Oral Presentation by a Resident or Fellow.

Dr. Botkin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) and a Fellow of the American Association of Dermatology (FAAD). She is a member of the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA), the American Association of Dermatology (AAD), American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), Canadian Laser and Esthetics Specialists Society (CLASS), and the Eczema Society of Canada Research Committee.

She has also pursued training in medical aesthetics to offer additional services to her patients.

Dr. Botkin is an enthusiastic patient advocate who strives to provide efficient and quality care for her patients with dermatologic concerns. Dr. Botkin is an invited lecturer to various physician educational sessions within Manitoba. She enjoys visiting the UofT to assist with resident examinations.
