Designer's Edge Hair Salon

I have been going to Lalin for my haircuts for years! This is a new location for her but I am more than happy to go the extra distance to have her cut my hair. She is very talented and not afraid to offer suggestions on getting the style you want. The salon is nice, spacious, and is easily accessible. I will be going to Designer's Edge for all my haircuts!

I have been going to the salon since the summer and I always walk out very happy and satisfied! The owner is a perfectionist and I love it! We had a consultation regarding what colour suited me best and hairstyle. She takes care everytime she works on my hair and I trust her judgement. Thank you for always making sure I look amazing and feel amazing!!

Always a fantastic haircut every time I go. The owner is a perfectionist, and won't let you out of the chair until you are completely satisfied. She does great work on guys' hair in addition to women. She's friendly, and offers great tips on care/styling depending on your hair type. Give this place a try - you won't regret it!

This has become my new go to place to cut & dye my hair. The prices are very reasonable and the work is so exceptional. U will walk away very happy. The owner takes her time with every client, listening to them, and making positive suggestions. She is also very kind and makes u feel so comfortable. Great service and satisfying results every visit!!! U must check it out!!!!

Designer's Edge may be a new hair salon, but I have been getting my hair done with Lalin, the owner, for years now and I have followed her from her previous location in downtown Toronto to Aurora. The establishment is beautifully modern, clean, brightly lit and welcoming. There are mirrors everywhere, lots of stylist stations, and products that line the walls. Lalin herself is extremely talented, friendly, and patient. When I needed a haircut for a wedding that I was attending, she was more than happy to suggest the best way to style my hair, give me tips on maintaining the colour, and explain to me why I should use some tools vs other tools. She was very patient in telling me in detail how to recreate these looks at home, and very accommodating to my questions. She is also very knowledgeable in her craft, and forthcoming on her stance on things like bleaching and perms. She is also upfront with the price of certain procedures, and takes pride in her work.

What an amazing hair stylist! I called last minute at lunch for an afternoon appointment with Lalin. She was extremely friendly and even said she would stay past the closing time to finish my hair. She was very kind and you can see she has a lot of experience working with hair, plus she loves what she does! I was so impressed and beyond happy with the results of my balayage (just look at the picture!) and Lalin charges for a fraction of the price you'd get in other salons in or around Toronto. I will definitely recommend her to you, my friends and family, and anyone else who wants to get their hair done! Lalin will definitely be my go-to for getting my hair done in the future. Note: she also has a lot of experience doing men's hair cuts! :)

I am giving this salon 3 stars because Lalin is kind, very responsive, patient and the salon was very clean during COVID-19. I was getting my engagement photos done so was very nervous about visiting this salon for the first time. However, my experience wasn't the best. After my 4+hour appointment, a day later I noticed the highlights didn't go up to my root as much as I wanted and had asked to come back to fix this. Lalin asked for photos as proof, was accommodating and took me in to fix this. A couple weeks later, I put my hair in a half-up/half-down style (testing hairstyles for the shoot), I noticed patches of root that weren't touched (see first photo below). I also noticed I still had so many split ends after getting my haircut. I had so many layers that weren't touched because my shorter layers were still the same length as when I came in, so not even sure I got a proper hair cut? I just didn't want to go back again at this point so I had to find another salon to get this fixed. I paid $300 at Designer's Edge. I understand the time it took to do this and the quality of the highlights but the overall experience for me was no where near to what my experience was in downtown Toronto...for the exact same price. Not to mention having to spend even more at the new salon for getting a proper haircut and fixing the highlights underneath and throughout to match. I attached a 'before' photo from the salon and an 'after' photo of my engagement photo hair from the fixes at another salon - you can see the difference.

I have wanted to write this review since finding Lalin about 7 months ago. I was on the hunt for a new stylist. And after researching many salons in Aurora I can say I’m so thankful I found Lalin. First off she is the sweetest most gentle person who has every worked on my hair and her talent as a stylist is something I have not come across before. When she is doing root touch up she is so precise, not like others who just slap it on. She worked on getting my hair back to what I dreamed of having. I leave so happy after every vist. Lalin listens to what your concerns are and addresses them . I could say so much more but go book appointment you will never be disappointed. ❤️❤️❤️
