Overall an outstanding experience. The Ritz does not disappoint, food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. We will definitely go back.

The foyer leading to the lounge is bedecked with a wonderful fresh floral arrangement in an opulent reception area. After all it's the Ritz Carlton. The lounge lighting is subdued to cloak whispers of intrigue and tender touches. The door Ambassador went out of his way to escort us to our preferred sitting.

I went with friends to the DEQ for drinks. As expected, the service and ambience at the Ritz are great. They charge a premium for their drinks, but that is also no surprise. What is a surprise is Gael's Mess. How that is even on the menu let alone being served is anybody's guess. It looks and tastes like it belongs in a toddler's birthday party, but is priced as though it was exquisitely thought out and had truffles infused. If you want three tablespoons of ice cream, topped with a can of whipped cream, peanut m&m's, and the sweet version of Bugles, then look no further. Disappointing dessert aside, everything else pretty good, though par for the course.

I came here on a solo trip for my birthday and was seated in a low armchair-coffee table setup. It was a little awkward to eat leaning forward but definitely nice to relax into. Luckily, they were having a special Royal Wedding Afternoon Tea service for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding. They give you a box containing the tea choices and it was spectacular since I enjoy smelling and touching the tea leaves. Having been to other tea services at various hotels and smaller shops, this was a big plus. The food offerings were all unique and delicious as well. The lobster with quail egg and caviar was my personal favorite and the presentation was cute, although difficult to take photos of. They also provided me with a generous slice of mango birthday cake! :) Service was wonderful and a couple of the waitstaff walking by wished me a happy birthday. My one complaint was the Le Creuset teapot. It was incredibly heavy (as all Le Creuset dishwares are) and spilled down the bottom of the spout when poured. Needless to say, my teacup saucer and the tip of my shoe were damp with tea by the end.

Edit Nov 4/19: Changing from 4 stars to 2 b/c I emailed management as they asked, and they inquired when I was free to discuss this, I said Oct 18. Never heard back... Another example of unprofessionalism that does not reflect the price and prestige the hotel boasts. Came here for afternoon tea. Surprised in more ways than one. Firstly the decor and ambiance was nice. I had the posh tea, and the Prosecco was a nice touch. The wood tables were chipped and mediocre where we sat. For some reason the tables in the middle and the chairs there were different and much nicer, it was glass and the chairs were white leather. The sandwiches were ok, the bread was stale, some were tasty but some were too sweet for my liking. The Heavenly Cream tea was to die for. Scones were great and so were the jams. Pastries were good. Some were great and some too sweet. I mentioned during the reservation call I was celebrating a 5 year anniversary and they brought me a Happy birthday dessert lol. The best part though is that we were able to take home anything we didn't finish even the bottled jams, and our server added extra scones for us which was really nice. The biggest surprise was how fillling the food was. leaving and paying was a bit of a pain, because we had to hunt somebody down for a bill and then we had to hunt somebody to get out jacket. In one of my pics you can see the nice table and chairs in the reflection of the mirror.

Went to this place with a bunch of ladies to experience their Afternoon Tea. The savoury & sweet delights were amazing. My mocktail & tea? Very delectable. I had the heavenly cream tea, by the way. The ambience is great & I think you can bring anyone there & have a good time. The downsides: service is just okay & the scones were a bit dry.

Probably has one of the best patios for brunch in the summer if you don’t want traffic and crowds getting in the way of an enjoyable meal and conversation. And being part of the Ritz Carlton you know you are getting quality. The chicken and waffles here are phenomenal, and it’s hard to go wrong with 2-hour bottomless mimosas. Definitely check this place out. For more great eats and drinks in the city, check out and follow me @instantonium on Instagram

Nice place. The food was great except the grilled octopus which was very chewy. Grilled octopus should be marinated for a while beforehand to become soft. Great customer service, we ordered a different meal and we didn’t have to pay for the grilled octopus which we didn’t quite eat.
