We had a great time at Deerhurst! The service was great from the front desk to the restaurants. The Pavillion rooms were all booked, but it didn't seem busy. The rooms had more than enough space for our family of 4 and the beds were comfy. The pillows were a bit too big and "poofy" for our liking and I would bring my own pillow next time to be honest. The pool was a nice space and the hot tub was warm. My kids enjoyed the art gallery and arcade. There are so many free things to do while on the resort too, which is really great! It's also really well situated and within 10 minutes of so many great activities. We'll be returning for sure.

Check in was a disaster. It started out great. Our room was apparently not ready and we were a bit early, but the reception let us show our QR code and get our wristband and told us we would get a text when it was ready. We decided to go to the pub (which was closing at 4) to have a drink while waiting. At 4:00 exactly we got a text (as well as everyone else apparently) that our room was ready and to proceed to the front desk. There was a massive line up in which we waited 45 minutes to be told that we were to go see the women by the fireplace, where we waited again. I apologize as I was abrupt in stating my dissatisfaction with this process, but she just handed me the keys and proceeded to the next person. Why were we not told in the text where to go. Everyone was frustrated. Check out is 11 am. and check in is 4:00 pm. So I guess all the cleaners are finished every room at 4:00. A staggered check in as rooms are ready seems more reasonable then 45 (some over an hour) wait time. So the people at the end of the line now are checking in after 6:00 p.m. and need to be out by 11:00 the next day. Short stay for the price. We do understand staffing issues and are normally patient and kind, but this was handled very poorly by management. In addition, there was only one person upon check out and although on the phone, she completely ignored my presence. I hope that just putting keys in box was okay. Also our room was dated and the fridge was smaller then a mini fridge, and the bathtub had large gouges in it. Our daughter and her fiance booked us originally for January 16-18 in an upgraded room, but since restaurants were closed, they had it switched to February 13-15. The resort lost this reservation and she had to re book. This time the room wasn't available and for the the same price we got a old worn room. On a positive note, the service in the Eclipse and pub were great and we enjoyed the cheese fondue immensely. Also many activities available and a great place to snowmobile from.

The nature was amazing. We have been there in spring and the hotel was very calm and silent. We couldn’t find any place to eat or to order from. They didn’t provide room service, due to covid (!). I guess it would be more lively during the summer. The beds were horrible. You could feel every spring moving. I slept on the couch on the last night and finally felt rested.

Reception has only 1 person who serves many people and always there is a long line and very long wait time. Not willing to check in early or check out later (only 2 hours after 11am) or extend for 1 more night or switch rooms (just because we booked through the Dance competition group). By the way, we didn’t get that much of a discounted rate, and we fill your hotel rooms in your off season (April) to be treated that bad. Room mini fridge is too small, enough for only 4 bottles of water. No microwave to warm up food. Coffee tastes so bad. Bad & cheap quality. Rooms are very old style/fashion in the main building. Too much money for nothing. Not worth the money we paid. No room service to clean the rooms or refill any stuff.

Our rooms were very clean and came with everything basic and more. Beautiful scenery, very nice all around. The only bummer was the equipment rental, by the time the kids were done online school it was closed so we were left with not much to do. They did include the eclipse walk which was great though.

Stayed at the Summit lodges for a dance competition from Wed to Sun on the 3rd floor with no elevators (which I knew but they should really fix that)! The lady at the front desk during check in was NOT friendly at all. I tried to ask for a lower floor and she just said there are none without even checking the system. She didn't look at me either nor did she allow me to finish speaking. The pullout couch available was terrible and uncomfortable. That mattress needs to be replaced. We weren't even provided a fitted sheet or extra pillows for it. We were told there were none available. At the end of our stay I tried to ask for late check out. Nothing was offered except to pay for a full night again! Not even an hour or a small fee for a few hours. Then I asked if there is a fridge I can use for my food as I had to stay several hours more due to the dance competition ending fairly late. No option to do that either! I stayed for several nights and I couldn't even get an extra hour before check out! If we have to go back for a dance competition, I will definitely be staying at a different place. There are a few hotels within a 10 min drive to the venue and some even offer breakfast!

The hotel and activities are great. Lots to do at the resort - pool, spa, skiing, skating. Escape rooms are fantastic for smaller groups of people. Mae bar is great. Snowmobile rentals are a great way to try it out. Rooms are clean, well equipped and very cozy. The only issue was with the the main restaurant (the Eclipse). The restaurant pretends to be a high end dining experience, but the food is really sub-par (I've had better microwave dinners), and service is painfully slow. The Maple bar has much much better food and faster service. We ended up eating there all the time. Overall the resourt is a great place to enjoy the nature, stay active and have a lot of fun!

The staff are all so friendly and our room was in PERFECT condition! We had a condo style room with a full kitchen and it had everything we needed to cook our own meals, and even had a dishwasher! There are so many activities in the resort and it's close to Algonquin and arrowhead provincial parks! Pool is really big too, and there's a hot tub! It seems like a great family place but my partner and I stayed here without children and loved it! The restaurants and bars have love music and good food and drinks!
