I was entitled to a 15-minute call with a lawyer from Grandpré Jolicoeur. Great service! The answers to my questions relating to the management of a condominium (I am a member of the Board) were answered with clarity and Madame really took the time to listen to me to the point of slightly exceeding 15 minutes. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ - Poor service and unprofessionnal attitude -
We had retained the firm's services in regards to the purchase of a home. Less than two weeks before the date of signature, upon us calling to follow-up, the firm informed us that they can no longer handle our case, due to an employee leaving the firm. We were also informed that the firm would, nonetheless, bill us over 1/3 of the full service fee.
The only work that was done was the review of a short document, which the firm advised us was not valid. This information was given to us over the phone, without details and with no report or other documentation produced by the firm to that effect.
My spouse and I had to squable all day on the phone with the firm, realestate agents, movers and other notary firms to make sure we could respect our deadlines. For these reasons, we thought the sum seemed unfair and did not take into account our extra investment in time and money due to this firm's inabilityto respect it's part of the deal. It took many unpleasant phone calls and a few snidely worded emails from the firm, but they finally waved the fees. It was a terrible experience in customer service, indeed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are crooks! I asked them to look into seeing if I could divide my duplex in Ville Emard. They said they would have to charge me for their time which I said fine. They charged me for 2.5 hours just to tell me they could not divide my duplex and would have to sell undivided. They billed me close to $600! How on earth did it take them so long to figure that out? It makes zero sense. I could have called the city myself and gotten the answer faster. As a notary, I figured it would be quick and easy thing to figure out and then they would know the appropriate steps to take. Definitely would not use them again. I can't imagine how much it would cost if they actually had to do some real work.

Communications beforehand by email were clear and prompt, and I knew exactly what I needed to provide them before and on my signing date. On my signing date, Mme. Tardif Boutin was punctual and explained all of the documents I had to sign, in language that a non-legal professional like me could understand. I would definitely do business with them again for any future real estate transactions.
