Danny has been my hairdresser for over 15 years, and he will continue to be my hairdresser until he decides to retire! My hair is thick and heavy; in the wrong hands, my hair will air dry flat and unflattering. However, Danny enables my hair to look great *without* blow drying or styling. I am extremely pleased by this, as it means that my hair can be low maintenance. I can look great and at no effort - amazing! I have even had a stranger come up to me and ask me to be referred to my hairdresser. Danny, of course! Danny is a professional hairdresser. He had been able to impress my mother, a highly critical and meticulous wedding tailor, over 30 years ago in 1989. She had been so impressed with his workmanship that she even remembers the first year that she had begun seeing Danny! She had introduced me to Danny way back when, and we have both been loyal since. Although his English is limited (his primary language is Mandarin, which we do not speak), he knows exactly how to cut your hair in a way that frames your face, bringing forth its best features. When I go see Danny, I request, "Keep it long. Layers. Bangs here (pointing to my chin)." He says, "okay," nods, and away he goes, clipping masterfully. Keep in mind that he *will* trim higher than what clients would typically expect as he needs to account for a margin beyond any split ends, which can be microscopic and spread upwards aggressively from the hair ends. Not doing so will actually result in a sooner-than-later revisit to the hairdresser! Moreover, when my mother goes to see Danny, she requests, "Boy short." Again, he says, "okay," nods, and away he goes, clipping masterfully. Despite being a man of very few English words, that does not stop Danny from proving his art through his skill. I will say that Danny and the salon operate on what I will call "Asian time", which means that there are no hard start or stop times. Expect to wait! We do, gladly, every time. To the handful of reviews that are accusing five-star ratings as being synthetic due to the fact that the posters are Asian: that is just plain wrong. Indeed, I am Asian, but a completely different kind of Asian. Danny and I cannot even communicate beyond the three quasi-sentences that I have described above, yet I will continue to rely on Danny as my hairdresser because of his expertise with hair - nothing less. To the (possibly synthetic?) haters: put your money where your mouth is. I am. Please see my *non blow-dried and non-styled hair.* Fresh out of the shower and air-dried! I just take my bangs and flick them upwards as they dry :-) Super low maintenance!!!

Surprise $20 surcharge at the end for cutting 3" of hair. I"ve not had a experience where they cut my hair, then tell me it was too long and charged me extra for it until this place. My first and last visit to Danny's hair salon. Also upon my return home and washed out the gel, I noticed a section was cut unevenly. I know I should return and demand a redo, but I really don't want to risk another surprise charge.

The person gave me a good cut. Aiming for the $15 cut for man but they charged me double for the shampoo and wash.

Decent haircut, but I went in for a $15 hair cut (as per their advertised sign) but came out having paid $40 + tip. The only additional service I noticed was that they washed my hair twice and added hair wax at the end. Seems ridiculous that a couple washes and .25g of hair product more than doubled the price. I share similar experiences with other reviewers; Danny often tried to coax me into getting more services done. Despite repeated refusals he mentioned at least 6 times that I should get my hair permed. Seeing the other reviews I'm glad I declined the $200 perm.

Misleading! Advertises $15. Lady at counter said $30 with owner cutting hair. He finishes part ways.then get another stylist to finish. He then charges $40!!! I wish I seen the reviews first before stopping in.

Paid 30$ for a haircut. Asked for layers and for it to be thinned out as its thick. I was asked to sit and then wasnt seen for a good while until another lady went and grabbed a woman from the back to do it. I repeated what I wanted and was told 'no problem'...... I DID NOT get any layers, I DID NOT get it thinned out, and she diddnt even cut enough off..... I paid 30$ for something that I could have had done at the 10$ shops on main street...... honestly, the 10$ place on main would have done a better job...... I now have uneven fluff ball head of hair.... The guy that is the owner was bouncing from person to person, had about 6-7 people going at once..... I never saw him wash his hands at any point during my visit. This was a waste of time and money, as now I have to go to a real salon to get this fixed....

Very bad skills in dying hair. Foiled Color turned out to be so ugly and not matching with the rest of my hair. He is inexperienced in controlling the Color. Most worst thing is he quoted the price as $ 168 when I asked him to do everything I need, in the end he charged me $ 394 saying this is my misunderstanding. Didn’t we speak the same language? I shouldn’t have mercy and paid over $ 300 as all my friends said my new hair styles sucks!

Went there with my mom. Female stylist did a poor job. Unequal lengths in the back and choppy bangs. Do not recommend and will not return. Kept trying to have my mom do a $90 perm just so the back would look fuller. We came for the $15 haircut.
