Lovely service every visit and the food is always fresh and delicious. We try something new each time, but my faves so far are the Futomaki, Sakura, and Midoriwave. Our 12 year old loves the carbonara udon. We recommend this place to everyone!

Definitely highly recommended Izakaya restaurant on Whyte Ave. Top taste of Japanese restaurant in Edmonton. Ordered the Hennesay Mojito, Sashimi Taco, Stone beef, Kuro Garlic roll, pressed salmon sushi, Egg skewer & squid skewer, and the spicy seafood yaki udon. They were all good. The favorite of me would be the tamago skewer.

My new favourite for sushi and tapas! Nestled quietly into the heart of Whyte Ave, Damso Izakaya provides a cozy, intimate experience with tables separated by booths and warm customer service. I was very impressed by the food here and look forward to making rounds again to try the rest of the menu! 10/10 - hidden in plain site gem

Food was overall pretty good. Their sashimi is excellent, we tried the 5 kinds of assorted and everything was good. Other favourites were the beef tataki, squid skewers, and agedashi tofu, but overall everything was tasty. The tofu tornado was decent but I wouldve enjoyed it more if they used smaller fried tofu cubes instead of the ones for their agedashi tofu. If they have some other options on their menu like oysters, clams, or black cod they'd definitely be my go to izakaya or even best izakaya in Edmonton. The service was great as well, recommend giving them a try.

This Japanese restaurant looks small, you could walk by without noticing it don't miss it as it's awesome. Started with a non alcoholic kajuka mango cider from Japan. Excellent menu many choices very reasonable priced. We had various sushi rolls very well made super tasty. Can't wait to return.

Edmonton is lucky to have such a stellar izakaya. Every single dish we had was amazing. The staff was friendly, efficient and attentive. The space was very clean, and easy to maintain space between parties. Some of the best sushi I've had in years! Thank you Damso ?

Went to Damso on April 30th around 3:30pm. The place wasn't packed and the atmosphere had a chill vibe. We ordered the tofu tornado, Tamago yakitori, kuro black garlic and thr mushroom trio Alfredo. Tofu tornado: soft and juicy tofu inside and crispy texture outside. The Sriracha is a good add on as it's not too sweet and adds a unique flavor profile on top of the existing flavor. The Bonito flakes and green onion add style Tamago yakitori(2 for $6.00): looks glossy , strong egg taste, strong seaweed taste, soft but firm egg. Mushroom trio Alfredo($16.00): kinda dissappinted as there was a lack of mushroom umami. It was basically udon, thick cream, and pan fried mushroom, presentation was good. Kuro garlic($23.00): fake wasabi, nice presentation. The rice is soft and not mushy, the tempura was crunchy but not overpowering, you can't tell the garlic is there, the sashimi with the sauce umami is powerful Definitely would go again for the kuro garlic and the tamago yakitori! Tl;dr food was good, Alfredo could have been better.
