COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

D’Arcy Bain Physiotherapy is proud to support several community groups. We are a small health care business but believe in giving back to the communities in which we work and live. We also believe in giving back to our profession; in particular, several specific gifts have been given to support the University Of Manitoba School Of Physiotherapy.

Most gifts are given to support our staff’s teams or special social events. To date, we are asked for donations at least 2-3 times per week and we regret that we cannot support every request.

We support the following:

$20,000.00 School of Physiotherapy Building and Endowment Fund.
 $500.00/yr John Potter High School Football Scholarship since 1986.
$500.00/yr Fred Stevenson High School Hockey Scholarship since 1999.
$300.00/yr Physio Fit Run

Our staff and therapists have donated their time and skill to the yearly Physio Fit Run, Manitoba Marathon, Boeing Track Meet and Provincial Cheerleading Competition.

Many sporting events are covered by our staff, at the high school, provincial, national, and international levels. There is no fee for this coverage and staff often take holiday time to help with the medical / sports physiotherapy support of events.

Beyond our staff volunteering their time for amateur sport, our therapists also hold positions on the professional licensing board (College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba), or community committees. Our staff and therapists are involved with the community coaching, community club executive, community health advisor and team/club executive.

D’Arcy Bain Physiotherapy is proud of the support and time that our staff volunteers with the community and happy to be able to support their charitable efforts as well as offer our own to the community as well.

He genuinely listens and cares for his clients, and his treatment plans work. I recommend him and his colleagues without reservation.

I have been seeing Carrie for Physio for the past 3 weeks, due to a rare left fractured ankle. I wasn't able to walk for 3 long months! Carrie has been Extremely Professional, Kind, Patient & Gentle...Yet She knows exactly how much to push me, just enough to create several challenges using Various Therapies & Specific Exercises. I'm feeling more & more confident every time I see her! YAY! I totally trust Carrie because she has years of experience & extensive knowledge in her field. She is Absolutely A Dedicated Physiotherapist, who wants the best positive results for me. She also makes time to get to know me as a person & so I don't feel like I'm just a number! A HUGE Thank You To All of You Wonderful People...Especially During This Crazy Pandemic...YOU Guys Are Awesome! :) :)

R	Robert Fisher on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was 10 weeks out from total (right) hip replacement surgery and felt my recovery had stalled so arranged an appointment with Derek Friesen, for an assessment and advice/direction. Derek looked after me (my hip issues) before surgery and made my life livable while waiting for replacement surgery - a time-line extended because of the pandemic. Going back to him after surgery for help was a "no brainer". He provided the objective assessment I requested, suggested some reasonable recovery time-lines, and prescribed a series of exercises for me to implement, specific to my long term objectives (i.e. what do I want to be able to do or to return to doing). Of most importance - he will continue to provide the advice and direction I require to get back to whatever normal is within my potential - whilst ensuring I don't overdo it. He is always punctual, and listens attentively. He expects active participation of his patients - something that works well for me. Thanks Derek. And thanks D'Arcy Bain Physiotherapy - Dakota.

Jackie is a wonderful therapist, kind, compassionate, and always helpful. Sarah is the massage therapist there, and she is amazing. She knows exactly what I need and works as a team with the physiotherapists there to maximize your care. I can’t say enough good things about this location of D’Arcy Bain Physiotherapy!
