Custom Cakes by C - Calgary

According to fame this is worst cake and customer service I received from them. No box, aimless and indiscriminate colour, overlapping colour and the characters on the cake braking apart. I don’t recommend buying from this C

I asked for a “farm cake” and that’s what I got. Cute and super tasty. Oh, and I also asked for there to be worms in the dirt, naturally.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER! DO NOT SUPPORT. HONEST REVIEW! I would give this person -0 star if I can. I ordered birthday cake from this person with matching cupcakes. See pictures below for what I got from what I actually ordered. Pick up for this cake was at 4pm, and had to wait for 20 min for "touch ups" which was fine. But the cake I received was way far from what I ordered. The cake seemed like it was rushed. The buttercream frosting was uneven, not even smooth at all. The cake board had smudge of blue frosting. No effort was put in. The cake did not even fit the box it came with. The cupcakes I ordered were red velvet flavour, but I received mixture of chocolate and redvelvet. Cupcakes were uneven in size, and very messy!. Very unprofessional. So then, I emailed her multiple times asking what happened and I was asking for refund. No respond at all after 3 days, but when I was putting my order she would reply in a span of 20-30 minutes. I proceeded to her instagram page and commented on the photo of the cake, saying that she should respond to my email. She replied and said that she never got my email (I have proof). But I used the same email where I placed my order (same thread). I replied again and said check on her end and that I wanted a refund. Later today, I found out that she had blocked me (see below) and has turned comment section for the same post. This lady is very very unprofessional. If she didnt want to refund, have at least the decency to apologize for ruining a kid's birthday cake. Blocking me is showing me how guilty you are! YOU WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL IF YOU ARE DECEIVING PEOPLE! AGAIN DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.

Nailed it!! Custom is right, not only were the cupcakes beautiful to look at they tasted amazing. Totally recommended if you are looking for affordable, friendly service, unbelievable results and a tasty product then look no further. Repeat customer for sure.

BAD EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ordered cake and cupcakes last year December 24; 2021 for my son Birthday party Jan. 08, 2022.... I fully paid everything, but did not get anything!!! She said that the order will be ready to pick up before the party but when my Son go pick Up the cake she said she already cancel it due to her son tested positive for Covid. I understand that of course!!! Nobody wants to go through that!!!! What I don't understand is ,why is taking so long to get my money back? Until now!!! Your very frustrating!!! I can't contact you, your not answering emails !!! Your very unprofessional !!!!! KARMA EXISTS!!!!!! No Cake & Cupcakes !!!! Just the Invoice Pic. (Fully paid).

Amazing. The cake was perfect. I ordered a 3d pokemon cake for my sons birthday party with rainbow layers on the inside. It was moist, and delicious. Definitely will be ordering again. Maybe for my wedding next year, she has amazing wedding cake designs!. I highly recommend!!

**UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE ** I am pleased you have sorted your curbside delivery situation. I only wanted to leave my review of my personal experience not keep defending myself. You have many great reviews and I am sorry mine could not be. This is NOT a fake review - happy to supply Google with pictures and my correspondence. My order is not recent (it was last fall 2020) but my review is consistent with the more recent lower star reviews. This is my own review of my experience with your business my order was a fail for quality assurance for the expensive product that was ordered. I really wanted to post a good review of Cakes by C because of the posts I read and one of the reasons I chose this business. Order placed fall 2020 As I love supporting local business. She accommodated me with under the 7 day min timeframe to order as it was a simple cake (owner's words) it was curbside pick up due to COVID but I understood that to mean I would text when I would arrive wait then grab the cake after the owner would place outside. NO. A buttercream frosted cake was left outside and the icing was melting. It was not even but in a cooler with ice to keep the icing cold.(** Owner said I was late-- she asked when I would like to pick it up I replied "ANYTIME after 3 pm" no specific time was given. I had to contact her to see if it was ready & I believe she was not even home when I pick it up) Ok...sent an email or text right away with pictures and the reply was a discount on a future order. This was disappointing I felt at least a partial refund due to their error was warranted. (No mention of the customer satisfaction policy nor that I was "late" in her reply) Well I thought maybe it tastes better than it looks. It was DENSE, did not taste good at all. It was red velvet - the colouring was not consistent throughout as though the batter was not stirred throughout. I did not reply back to the owner's response of a discount on a future order with my concerns on how the cake tasted, texture and inconsistency of colouring as I felt it would have been the same response. I chalked it up to lesson learned. I see positive reviews that is why I chose this bakery but I agree with the low star reviews. Quality assurance and customer satisfaction is what this business needs improve on. It is a considerable amount of $$ so read reviews, and ask about the customer satisfaction policy and also how a business responds to reviews is very important.

I am honestly very disappointed with my order. I put my order in a day after the requested deadline so I had to pay a rush fee which was no problem, the later submission was my own fault. I got to the location a couple minutes early and no one answered the door so I waited until my scheduled pick up time and then was told my order was not ready and that she could bring the cupcakes to my car in 5 minutes. She brought my cupcakes out 20 minutes later. Given the wait time I would have appreciated a message even an hour before requesting I come later as they cupcakes were not ready. Saying that, it looked like the bottom cupcakes were done done in a rush. The icing is sliding off the cupcake, there's red on the white, it looks plopped on, and it is hard to even make out the symbol. I was very excited to bring these to the Superbowl when I ordered to show my friends and they only complimented because they thought I made them, and I do no not bake. I do not think the bottom row is bakery level quality. For the price I paid ($57) I honestly just expected more, and if they did not have time for my order I would have rather just being told that.
