We love taking the Crofton ferry! Especially because the staff are very friendly and Salt Spring Island is on the other side!! This boat is very often late.

Best crew, best boat, best terminal staff. Without this crew and boat, island kids would not be able to participate in sports. Keep up the good work everyone. Except that one guy, he's pretty grumpy.

It's an alright terminal, get the job done. Literally do not park in front of the driveway of anybody's house or they will come out and scream at you. Don't mind the people in their houses staring into your soul as you wait in line. Not the terminals fault at all though. They literally had to hire someone just to tell people not to park in front of driveways. Besides that point, the lady at the booth is hilarious.

If you're going to Salt Spring Island from Victoria, Osborne Bay in Crofton is a much better terminal to head out from than Swartz Bay in North Saanich. It’s not as busy since there is only one route, whereas Swartz Bay handles several other routes. The time between departures also tends to be shorter. The drive from Victoria to Crofton takes about 30 minutes longer, but the ferry ride from Swartz Bay takes about 10 minutes longer, and the drive to Ganges takes about 5 minutes longer from Fulford Harbour (which is where you get off if you’re coming from Swartz Bay. So all in all, you’re only saving about 15 minutes by heading out of Swartz Bay. Fares cost the same on both routes.

This terminal and ferry has a timeless feeling. The ferry boat has hardly changed since the late 70s.

Small little terminal. Very punctual. The ferry's left at exactly the time stated. There was also a very good rest area that allowed you to pass some time while you wait for the ferry. The bathrooms are also pretty clean and well maintained.

Simple ferry terminal. Washrooms are in the building near the park. Give yourself plenty of time to get here, especially in the summer. This ferry has been very overloaded all summer.

This is one of the best ferry terminals on Vancouver Island. The workers are cheerful & friendly ... like you'd expect in any kind of hospitality industry. Make sure you buy a coast saver card and pay with that. It's the only way to get a gulf island discount. You can use the balance to get back to the mainland if that's where you're headed. Also, I never really worry if I've just missed a ferry on this run because there'll be another in about an hour. I think I arrived during dinner break so there is a bit of a wait but the scenery is gorgeous, the air fresh so this is a welcome break. If you want to stretch your legs, go check out the gorgeous boats at the marina.
