β β β β β The best aspect of Creatron by far is the organization. Every component comes in it's own labelled bag, and generally with a spec sheet on the website. If you have an idea of what you need, but don't know everything, that will help you out. Contrast that to Home Hardware across the street where all you'll see on the bins is a part number and a price.
Prices range from somewhat reasonable to near-gouging, but that's how it is for brick and mortar hobby shops: you're paying for the privilege of being able to have what you want in your hands right now. Prices may be significantly better online, but you pay for it with the weeks you have to wait for shipping.
Customer service can be hit-or-miss. No, they won't put together an entire schematic and BOM for you, but they will give advice on specific questions. Give them an educated question and you'll probably get an answer. There has been the occasion where I've gone in for a single part or two and had to get the attention of the employee so they could take my payment.

β β β β β I've never had the chance to visit their store but I placed an order on their website and there was a $3 potentiometer missing. They sent it rush and it arrived in two days. Can't complain. I really like that store. Huge catalog with hundreds of connectors, power supplies, infrared transistors, reflectance sensors, microcontrollers, optocouplers and so on. Somebody at my job recommended me Creatron. I'm a fan now.

β β β β β This location does not pick up the phone. I called them over a span of 3 days at different times, and even left messages. Unfortunately this was the only physical location which carried what I needed - when I went in person there was an employee who just ignored the phone... Prices are marked up here, so I recommend you order your parts online if you don't need them ASAP.
