I've dealt with Yasmin Fahim for my mortgage and two personal loans. She has always been fantastic and has done everything in her power to help me out and to offer advice. She is a great asset to First Calgary Financial.

Every interaction has been a nightmare. Friendly but completely incompetent. I don't understand how they are in still in business. Cards don't work no reason at all, if they get send out all, website glitches, customer service does nothing to correct ongoing screw ups. I've been banking all over the world for thirty years and leaving this bank behind feels how I would imagine it would be to leave a bad marriage. I'm trying to find someone competent enough to close my account now and I will be celebrating the fact that I no longer have to deal with this institution. I'm literally counting the days I can put this experience behind me and never have to think about again. Read the other reviews, my experience here is not original.

They don't have any ATM. There are no other of these banks around. They are all closing. Keep your money safe and go to another bank.

Awesome staff. Extremely helpful. What people dont realize that it's a credit union and not a bank which means they are stricter in giving out loans n mortgages n may have 2 charge 4 printouts n drafts due 2 financial constraints. But hey banking is free even at ZERO balance..

First of all a big round of applause for all the girls at Village Square branch who have been dealing with this colossal mess their top management have left for them to sort. I salute your patience, professionalism and hard work. It takes a lot to keep smiling when you have member after member yelling at you for something out of your control. A lesson to be learnt for the higher ups.. and I hope you guys are paying attention.. there is a thing called "BETA testing" All proactive and intelligent companies use it to test out new system upgrades to iron out the wrinkles before rolling them out .. it would have the upgrade so much easier but you guys dropped the ball big time. I hope you can make it up to these hard working girls they deserve better.

β€’ Of what use is an ATM that is under lock and key when the branch is closed? ATMs were originally introduced so customers weren't restricted to "bankers hours" now they are the alternative to lining up at the limited number of tellers employed to increase profits at the cost of customer service.

Thirty plus year member. I am so disgusted with the new transition the credit union is making, partnering with other smaller credit unions to make things β€œeasier” for us members. All they did was lock me out of my accounts and claim they have no information of mine via computer message, not answer my phone calls, hang up on me every single time I called the customer service line to inquire about the issues and basically fully ignore me as a human being. I have no way of dealing with this in person as I live in Airdrie and First Calgary also doesn’t have a branch here ( but they have one south of the city ??!! ) and am unable to drive to Calgary due to medical reasons. So now I am fully locked out of a financial institution I have banked with all my life, due to the fact they claim they have no information on me, no one is returning my calls or answering them. The branches won’t help me when I call them if they even answer their phones. The police won’t help and the federal banking regulator said it’s not their problem. Called the provincial financial regulator and got another answering machine telling me I have to wait another two days for them to return my call. I guess I’ll go f**k myself while I wait to get access to my finances when someone finally decides to do their job. Funny when I steal money I’ve broken the law right away, when a bank or credit union does it, it’s not theft and there’s apparently no timeline on when it becomes a crime. I now have third party banking sites and institutions emailing telling me they are shutting down my accounts due to suspicious activity and guess what???.........I can’t even get into my online banking to see what the hell is going on. Thank First Calgary for treating me like a human being and not just a number, thanks First Calgary for going out of your way to not inconvenience me and for not taking it lightly that you have. The first opportunity I get I will be closing my accounts with them in order to wash this disgustingly awful taste from my mouth and forget this experience. This used to be an amazing company to bank with, not anymore. Just like any other bank or credit union your just a file number with these guys, just another account for them to make interest off of to line their pockets while they ignore you.

Been with First Calgary my whole life and moved near this location 2 years ago and it sucks. Every visit they push you into RRSPs appointments when not requested. I can't even deposit a cheque from my regular clients without it being held for a week and then get blamed for it being held. Ill be leaving this bank asap. Such a joke.
