I had a great experience at Colors Hair Studio. Initially, I was nervous to check out a new salon as I am from Ontario and usually don't stray from my hair stylist at home. After reading a couple reviews on here I felt more at ease and decided to give them a shot! I am so glad I did because I had such a positive experience with Jacklynn. Once I got there we spent 10-15 minutes discussing what I would like done, she was so insightful and I came out with such a great hair cut and dye. It was everything we had discussed to the T. I sincerely recommend going here, I will be going back for sure!

I had come across this studio on Groupon - not looking for anything in particular! When I saw the deal I thought I'd give it a try as I was in need of a trim. Purchasing it last minute and calling to see if they had availability the following day, I was lucky enough to get in! I was informed that I was booked with Jacklynn (Salon Owner and Lead Stylist) who usually does not accept groupons (understandably). I would also like to add in here that I was asked to put a credit card on file - which I've seen in some other reviews people are offended by. I think its a great system for booking - these ladies are blocking off a time slot to convenience us and our hair needs! No shows and last minute cancellations result in loss time and money for a company that depends on their clients to run! As long as you plan follow through with the commitment you've made, this should not be of any offence. I had in the back of my mind that I wanted a significant change as it had been some time. When I was told I was booked with a Lead Stylist I decided maybe this was the time! I usually stick to just a trim and rarely even layers. Once I spoke to Jacklynn I felt comfortable she would provide me with what I had envisioned. So we went with bangs!!! I couldn't be happier with the result and I HIGHLY recommend this salon. The groupon was a nice treat but let me tell you - the experience of feeling very welcome and in good hands would be all worth the full cost of this service. She was so helpful and informative with options of colour as well. No colouring services were done at this appointment but I can guarantee I will be returning when I am ready to start the process of changing my hair colour! They also have a referral and advanced booking promotions. 10/10 would recommend :)

Best haircut of my life! I'm 45 and have been receiving excellent haircuts from amazing stylists around Calgary for years ....but by chance, I was not able to get on with my usual salon and tried Colours instead (because it was a convenient location). The salon did not serve me on time, and Avery was not very chatty, BUT, she gave me the best haircut I can remember in history :) Thank you: I will be back soon for sure !!! :)

I was 10minutes late, the lady at the front was on the phone when I came in so by the time she was able to talk to me it was 15minutes past the time of my appointment, when she was available to talk to me she gave me rude a lecture about being late, even though she had just wasted the last few minutes on the phone. After I sat down the stylist immediately started discussing how no matter what I did to my hair it was going to be more expensive than the promotion cost, I agreed that it was fine, I would rather my hair look good than get a cheap cut. But I don't like how they string you along for more and up the prices. Then I sat down and got a call, I talked for 30seconds and silenced it. The stylist was rude about the call and I asked her if I should leave? She gave me a rude answer so I had had enough, my time is not worth "sketchy" stylists, who up the price and lecture me when I did nothing wrong. They then proceeded to charge my credit card 1/2 the price of the appointment. This place is money hungry. And the heavier stylist with the orange hair has terrible customer service. It was literally the worst experience I have had at a hair salon. I'm so glad I didn't let them cut my hair.

Very knowledgeable, great location. I am very pleased with my hair (balayage and cut). My hair is challenging, there's lots of it and it likes to turn yellow any chance it gets. Color knowledge and patience are very important. Been going there a few years now and I don't plan on leaving. ** Update** Jackie is the best color and stylist ive ever been too!! My hair is not easy to work with and after years of disappointing cuts and colors(many tears have been she'd over my hair) elsewhere. I always leave her salon feeling fantastic. Forever grateful for such a wonderful human being and talented hair dresser!

Terrible studio! I came in a couple years ago with a Groupon and I ended up spending a heck of a lot more. I got a haircut and a colour. I asked for β€œashy” highlights in my dark, but the stylist assigned to me (a student) accidentally dyed my entire hair orange. She said it would change to an ash colour in the coming days but it never did. Bring my first time getting my hair colored I believed her and paid the extra money. I called back a week later and the owner said I would have to pay more to have it fixed. It was embarrassing because I worked an office job, and since my role was client facing I nearly got fired. I paid a couple hundred dollars for an Orange head of hair and they also convinced me to buy their hair-relaxing serum. Guess I am the real fool, and it’s my fault for not knowing what a coloring experience should be like and walked away hopeful it would change color in a few days. I will never be back. I feel as though they took advantage of me and tried to convince me the mistake was normal.

Avary did my hair today. I feel bad for saying this but she was bad. She seemed timid while doing my hair. I used a Groupon to try a new mission hairsalon and I regret it. She did an uneven cut, I had to point it out that the right side was longer. She thinned it out but after I got home and showered, I noticed that it's unevenly cut still. The back of my hair wasn't even done properly and is a bit longer than my sides? I had to square off my own side burns! Wow. She also burnt me with the hair dryer once. She didn't know how to use hair paste or style my hair. I asked her to style and she said "oh, I usually let guys style it themselves" lol what? I regret going to this salon. Never again. I don't recommend. I was in such a rush to pay and leave that I forgot my jacket. Had to go back and grab it. She even had the nerve to give me business cards to refer the salon. Yeah, no. Now I'll have to go to my main hairsalon in Mission (Hair Studio Mission) and embarrassingly explain that I tried a different place for the sake of trying but they messed it up and if they can fix it for me. Lovely. *update* I went back and Avary acknowledged a mess up but she STILL didn't fix it properly, she tried but it still looks bad. Slow clap. I meet up with a friend who even came with me and she noticed without me saying anything that it was a bad haircut. I complained to Groupon and they've refunded me the money. I'm very happy with Groupon for listening, they earned a loyal client. I just wanted a regular mens haircut but got an all day ordeal instead. Plus the other lady hairdresser made a snarky comment "you can't complain about something you can't see" when I complained about the back if my head. Omg, she was coloring another client so I just kept my mouth shut. Never going back or recommending.

A clean cozy salon tucked into a building. The staff here are very friendly and professional. The place makes you feel at home. Mel was my hairstylist and she did an amazing job after showing her pictures of what I would like done. She took her time to ensure all was done correctly and asked questions back to reassure certain things that I would or would not prefer to the cut. I only had a cut and conditioning treatment job done here but im sure theyre just as great with colours. Really great experience and outcome.
