City ratifies union agreement with IBEW

City council accepted and ratified a new collective agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 254, the union represents 45 inside and outside workers in the Electric Light and Power department.
City pressing pause on Highway 11A const

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be careful with playing certain sports in the main sports gym, person with a beard working the sports equipment will crucify you if he catches you playing anything besides volleyball, badminton, or basketball. Had the audacity to come up to my son’s face in a very confronting manner as if he was about to do harm. Could’ve just asked nicely for him and his friend not to play the sport they were playing which could do no harm to others, instead resulted to being a confrontational little child. Collicut should ensure their workers have proper social skills or it’ll drive your customers away. Oh and mind you, my son asked where it said on the rules that they were restricted to playing some sports and the guy had nothing to show for it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been coming to the collicut since I was a kid and now I bring my baby to swim. I love it here. My only thing is I wish they had proper cleaning procedures in place for the change rooms during the day!!! And if they do, whoever doing it is not doing their job at all. The change room floors are absolutely disgusting every time we come. The toilets are gross and garbages are full. Do better guys!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a very nice location. I usually go for gym. They gym is not busy at all, they have an ok selection of equipment, not many options. 2 power racks, 1 flat bench press, 1 incline, lots of dumbells but a small area in which to use them. Upstairs they have bikes and some more machines and a nice track for running. The swimming pool is very big. The gymnasium is also very big and they have basketball, badminton, golf and other sport.

The changing rooms were nice and clean. I was a little disappointed that you could not use your own lock and needed to buy a token. Still lots of fun for all the family

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love this pool! Two hot tubs, wave pool and the river is the best, then hop over and get a water massage in the kid pool. Friendly staff and very clean facility with a walking track upstairs, wall climbing and huge gym to enjoy many sports in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would be great if you could call in and speak with someone. The pool is often at capacity, which means a long drive only to be turned away.
Changing rooms are often not as clean as they could be and the water in the shower often comes out scalding hot, which is dangerous.
Other than the negatives, the staff are helpful, the pool is fun and its a great place to escape the winter cold.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've always enjoyed this facility. I've worked out in the fitness center many times and it has great equipment all a person needs to get into shape. The arena is great to play on with good sized change rooms and the ice is kept in good shape. My family enjoys swimming here and find it the favourite of the polls in Red Deer. It has a great running track and gym for all sorts of fun activities such as basketball, floor hockey, badminton and many more. It has climbing walls for adults and kids. A great place to take your family and stay active. $20 for the family you can't go wrong not much else you can do for that price.
