i had my furnace inspected and was told one of the motors was not working well and would need to be replaced. they actually suggested the whole furnace at first which was only 8 years old. they told me it would cost 1200 dollars to replace the motor, a few months later i called them to do the job and set up an appointment. a few days before i lost my phone and emailed them about this as they would not be able to phone but that i would be home on the day of the appointment all day to wait for them to come. well they did not come on the day of the appointment. i went that evening to get a phone and called them first thing the next morning and asked why they did not come. the woman at first said they did come but i did not answer. BULL! i told i was home all day and no one came. then she said that she tried calling me several times and i told her that i had emailed the office through their website to tell them of the issue. she said they did not get it that there must have been some problem. i was very very mad because i felt lied to. she sent some one right away and he was here a total of 10 min.to install this motor. i really think i was scammed. furnace still makes clunking noise. 1200 dollars for 10min work and a lot of inconvenience to me. i will never use these guys again. they are not trustworthy and are over charging to rip people off. this is an update from my last review. in the last few weeks i have received 2 calls from this office. they now have a person that phones you and tells you it is time for your annual furnace check up. well the motor was supposedly installed not even 6 months ago. how is that annual? i asked the first time to take me off of their call list. i just received another call from them. i called back and again asked to be taken off of their call list. hope this time they listen.

Unable to rate at 0 stars or would have. Service person who came by was awesome. Repair was completed correctly. Customer service & phone interaction was friendly and thorough when booking call out. Fee charged was very heavily marked up, unfairly so. Furnace inducer fan ceased, resulting in furnace failing over night. I had diagnosed the problem and used a call out to confirm. I was not going to be able to wait until the following day to replace it. I was also unsure if I had the necessary tools available or if I would need to turn off my gas line to replace this part. College Electric charged $119 for a call out then $789 part and installation; the part would have cost $230 if I had purchased myself. Over $500 markup as "flat rate part and installation charge" is well beyond unacceptable for a repair that took the service person 15 minutes, including paperwork. They also attempted to up-sell me to replacing furnace over phone before call-out was made. Shop around (if time is on your side) before using College for HVAC/Furnace service.

We've been long term customers of College Electric since 1996. Over the years we've had installed new an electric furnace, two central air conditioning systems, air ducting, humidifier units, and over the years as equipment ages, some service calls to support these components. We are very satisfied 100% with their work and people sent to do the job. I recommend them to anyone looking for an electrical contractor. It seems though their service prices are rising since the new ownership. Two years ago it cost $316 to replace two $40 sequencers on the furnace, today it cost $455 to replace two more. That is getting pricey.

Had a electrical fire in an outlet, called early in the am and a tech was dispatched within a couple of hours, also received numerous follow up calls from the office advising on what to do and making sure we were safe. Great Company

I got my furnace servicing done in november. Today my furnace was not working and when i called them they sent a technician who had no clue how to fix it. And without fixing they again charged me 139 dollars.I am never using their services ever again. Thoroughly non professional people with no values.

The service techs came to install a new furnace. My son was home and I was volunteering. I came home before they attached the exhaust to the outside of the house. They did not show me what it would look like or where it would come out when I spoke to them before the install. I thought the vent would look more like a dryer vent. As soon as the vent was put out the back of my house, I told the techs immediately that is was not okay. It was too low. Kids can put anything down it! It’s perfect for a 2-3 year old to reach. I cannot put a screen over it. I also told the techs that it was too close to my back door. The next morning it was -30 and the steam from the furnace vent FROZE the door shut. The techs said it would be overtime to move it and would have to call for approval. I asked them why they put it out back when either side of the house would have been safer. The tech then told me that I was right and they should have put it to the carport side. The furnace room has an open ceiling and it would have been quite easy. When I called back multiple times to find out if they could move the piping, I was told it’s another $500!!!!!! The furnace was $6700.00 and now they want another $500 to move the exhaust to where they should have put it in the first place!!!!!! I feel like a woman that went to get her car fixed and paid for things that didn’t need to be done!!!!! I paid for the liner that needs to go in my chimney and it has not been done yet either. I am not happy!!!!!

Right from the start was a great experience. Technician who came was very courteous and knowledgeable. Had no heat, he inspected all components in my furnace to made sure there were running at peak performance, found the problem, repaired it and now I got heat, thanks. Will recommend this company!!

Very impressed with this company. Starting with Riley, who came to do the quote for our new hi efficiency furnace, air conditioner and electric water tank. Out of four companies that we received quotes from Riley was able to explain absolutely everything about our options and definitely was very knowledgable. The price could not be beat. Rob, the lead hand and Ely arrived around 9:30 am and Steve and Ryan came later to assist with the job and to ensure that the job was completed before 6 pm. Rob made sure that the furnace and electric water tank were positioned to allow us more room in our furnace room. This was our first hi efficiency furnace so all new lines had to be installed for both the furnace and a/c and we were converting from a gas to an electric water tank so new wiring was necessary as well. All four men were extremely friendly and a pleasure to have in our home. My wife and I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
