We ran into an issue where one of our storage freezers was no longer cooling. We called Global Mechanical to help us out and with in a few hours, a technician came, diagnosed the problem and fixed everything before the issue became a major problem. We would recommend them to anyone looking for great reliable and fast service!!

Our bakery had a nasty smell coming from the basement. Called late afternoon on a Monday, and the technician was there before I arrived on Tues morning. Cleaned out the drains and had us smelling like sugar and butter again in no time. Even mopped up after himself! Highly recommended!

My water heater went on a Saturday, from the time I called to have it changed and the job being completed was remarkably fast, everyone from the technician to the office person were very professional and efficient. The technician took the time to explain how the water heater works and how to get the longest life out of an electric water heater. Highly recommend!

Had a leak in my hot water tank that I claimed through home warranty. Received an email from them saying β€œGlobal Mechanical will be the company reaching out to you to handle the work”. 2 weeks go by with nothing. I called Global and was told they received the file and weren’t sure why no one had reached out. Set up the apt to take a look and when the tech showed up, turned out it made the most sense to replace the tank due to the age rather than throw good money after bad. Made sense to me and the warranty company offered me 500 dollars towards to replacement. Seemed pretty fair. Made an apt to have the tank replaced by Global between 12-4 pm. At 2 pm still had heard nothing from them, so I called and they said someone should be there soon but they may have to stay late to finish. Didn’t work as I had other apts to get to and had made myself available during the time given. The poor tech showed up at 3 pm having not even had lunch yet. Said the work would take about 3 hours, which I said wouldn’t work as I had other apts to go to for 5 pm. I called to reschedule to which they apologized and said they’d β€œput a priority note on it” as it was already having to be rescheduled once. A week later, the afternoon the work is supposed to be done again, I make myself available at home from 12-4. At 2 pm having heard nothing, I call and ask what’s going on, only to be told β€œoh I remember you from last week but we didn’t put you in the schedule it looks like”. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional scheduling and service. Would not recommend to anyone I like and would actually go so far as to steer friends and family away from this gong show of frustration. Funnily enough the morning the work was to be done, I had Tradesman come to work on the furnace fan, and the tech was on time, the day scheduled, and the work was completed in a timely fashion. So it is possible to accomplish good service, just not a priority for Global it seems.

We received a new furnace and AC unit in our house. The technicians that did the installation were very professional and did great work. Really good at communicating the next steps during the process and very quick to respond to questions I had after the install. Would highly recommend their services and suggested them to my neighbour already. Special thanks to Justyn for his hard work.

I had requested a boiler system servicing and inspection as part of a promotion that was being held at the time. The technician that showed up for the service call did a seemingly thorough job and we were generally satisfied with the work performed. There was one radiator that still wasn’t working but we were told it was missing a small part that he didn’t have on the truck and could be easily repaired at a later date. Later on, we had decided to address this remaining issue but ran into some issues with the service manager. It turns out that a full system inspection which was initially requested wasn’t performed and the remaining issue was misdiagnosed and instead would be a much larger job than anticipated. That would not have been an issue if this was properly identified at the initial inspection but the service manager insisted on repeatedly charging for call-outs for the same problem. This led to many phone calls that were not returned promptly and some disrespectful words being directed towards the paying customer. This issue took 7 months total to resolve and, due to improper documentation by Global Mechanical, was left with no recourse other than to pay the additional erroneous charges and cut our losses. The dispatch staff has always been helpful at providing information, the technicians were proficient at their job and most likely received inaccurate information for their office which led to improper servicing. Unfortunately there are not many boiler servicing companies in Winnipeg but if you have the option, I’d recommend looking elsewhere strictly from a customer service perspective. Otherwise, be prepared to argue with their service manager and incur additional charges which may not be warranted.
