Terrible vet assistant and vet...took my new puppy for his first vaccines. I came to the clinic in a fantastic mood and expecting to have a great experience. We were locked down and this was my first time out with my new puppy! The vet assistant did not explain my options properly and spent her time telling me that I needed to change everything I was doing with my puppy. I told her that she was making me feel uncomfortable and a little defensive. Incidentally, my puppy was perfect! Cute, eating great, energetic, plump, full shiny coat and healthy!! I should not have felt that way. She went to the back with my puppy and the next thing I know the vet is storming out and ordered me to follow her. I did and was confronted with her telling me that I made the tech cry. She was very upset because I told her she made me uncomfortable... Anyway, she continued to tell me that my puppy was half vaccinated now, because of my decision. My decision was led by the direction of her technician - Full vaccination was the same price, but I was told that one vaccine was for if I took the puppy in the woods. I told her I wouldn't be doing that and she scratched that one out...and the other was if I put the puppy in the kennel, I wasn't doing that, so she scratched that one out.... The vet explained that the vaccines included also protects the dog if he goes where squirrels/raccoons etc are and smell other dogs pee around the door, etc.(I did not think of that, only that I only wanted my puppy to have what he needs and nothing more or less) Now my puppy has to go to another clinic to get the other two vaccines and get properly assessed. I don't trust this visit at all... She also told me that I was a terrible person for making her technician cry - they were working through a pandemic. I have also worked through the pandemic, most of us are...does that give someone the right to make people feel uncomfortable? Can't we tell someone if we feel they have made us feel a kind of way? Just a bad experience and half the service I came for. Better vets in Montreal...it's a big city

Our experience with both Dr Maude Touret and the whole team at the clinic was exceptional. Our Pitbull was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2020. Dr Touret was able to provide us with treatment options, with regular checkups every 6 weeks. She was concise, empathetic and kind with his treatment. We've dealt with multiple veterinary clinics around the island but the Monkland clinic's facilities, kind staff and care of our pet was consistently the best experience for us!

Have had files here for two dogs and a cat. The prices are a little higher than elsewhere, but the quality of service and care are worth it. Spacious and clean waiting area; also have a big selection of Royal Canin and t/d food for sale onsite as well as some specialty pet products (leashes, harnesses, toys, treats, grooming products, etc). The only downside is that they used to let you come into the exam room with your pet but now because of Covid you have to wait in the waiting area, which is a drag for you and your pet. Parking is sometimes difficult.

I would recommend avoiding this vet. When making an appointment, they demand your credit card . Why ? So they can immediately charge you 65 $ . If you cancel your appointment, you are out 65$. They are not transparent about this. These people are not at all interested in your pets, only your money .

Good food selection for cats and dogs. I appreciate being able to call to pick up stuff (albeit it’s by credit card over the phone). Vets are good. Have used their services for many years for our pets (11+ years now). Pricier than some places? Sure, but their services are, overall, better than others and the prices aren’t that much more than the Sherbrooke and CDN clinics nearby. It’s to be expected since they’re in Monkland village. They deal with rich, snotty people and their designer purse sized mutts. I’ve never felt pressured into doing more than what is required, and even then the technicians and veterinarians take the time to explain alternative options, which is nice.

After having a very bad experience at another clinic, the Monkland clinic was nice enough to squeeze me in for an emergency visit. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Very professional service, the veterinarians take time to explain to you what is happening with your animal and you overall feel very well cared for. You can tell they also care a lot about the animals. Highly recommended.
