About Chocolate Zen Bakery
Our names are Betty Lai, Douglas Krahn and Barbara Rudiak. The three of us co-own Chocolate Zen Bakery and our passion is baking fabulous treats! We love the creative, collaborative process that happens when we craft an edible piece of art for our customer’s special occasions and enjoyment.
Betty and Doug have been pastry chefs for over 20 years and have created masterpieces for many grand events including the Nygard wedding, for various dignitaries and stars such as Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Lopez and Ashley Banfield.Together with our wonderful, talented staff of other professional bakers, we have done numerous weddings and countless birthday and celebratory cakes and many, many events.Let us create something special, beautiful and delicious just for you!

β β β β β Last weekend Justine Kelley has sent me a post that they were having a Motherβs Day cake. And I ordered one. It was the 6β Neapolitan cake. I picked it up yesterday May the 9. And my family had a early Motherβs Day celebrations that night as we couldnβt wait to try the cake. It was so yummy and my little daughter said it was super yummy and the cookie on top was too. Well done and thank you Justine for making this yummy cake for my family sincerely Scott and family.???

β β β β β We order an $82 cake for a long awaited birthday party from chocolate zen only to learn on the day of the event that it was burnt. We also ordered bakery items that turned out incredibly old and inedible. The cookies were bricks and the cheesecake was yellow on top thatβs how old it was. These items should of never been sold. Even though we explained the situation to the owner, we ended up with a partial refund. We still had to pay for decorations on the cake they burnt. Iβd suggest to never deal with this business again. Iβd hate to be a bride and deal with a burnt cake on my wedding day.

β β β β β The smell was out of this world. The welcome wasnβt warm. Waited several mins to have anyone come help. Great looking items. Some nice cakes with rich flavors but left a sour taste for me.

β β β β β Their lemon raspberry cake has been my favorite for years. Well, I finally tried something new and went for their Zuccotto slice. HEAVEN! I didn't even know that it was gluten free. This bakery has the most gourmet cakes and desserts I have tried in Winnipeg... by far!
