β β β β β Went here today round 5pm to buy some dalpourie, thyme, scallions, salt beef and some curry. I was planning on Cookin some stew peas. Walking out I could smell the food cookin next door at Charlie's restaurant.
Ordered up a goat dinner and chicken roti.
As a chef that trained under a Jamaican chef, I'm no stranger to great Jamaican meals.
We LOVED EVERY BITE! You can taste the pimento berries, the Thyme, the coconut milk... the goat fell abart with tenderness. The chicken was beautiful. Whomever cooked these dishes loves their food and it shows in their talent! I asked when they'll open up their dining room again and the sweet woman that served me said "soon I think". Soon I think, I'll be back with enough friends to fill that dining roon!

β β β β β I got the curried goat with coleslaw and a side of rice and gravy. I was so shocked that the food had no taste. The goat was moist and juicy but there was noooo flavour. Not even the rice was salted yaaaaaaw. Why was I under the impression that Charlieβs was good. They are not seeing my money again. Stinkfoot

β β β β β We ordered several large trays of food from Charlieβs for a family party! The food was excellent, the service was excellentβ¦they had everything ready to go on time and packed up. The pepper shrimp was a huge hit. Will for sure order from here again.

β β β β β we use to go to Charlies often prior to the pandemic. Food was always great. This weekend we ordered 2 large orders to go of ox and rice and curry chicken. Spent over $40 but we were disappointed. Prices are higher food portions smaller and it was dry. I like this place and hope that it does go back to the quality it once had. Will try it again and decide if it will be a restaurant of choice.

Was good & food portions were awesome, price is very reasonable. Definitely going back.

β β β β β Good food but have consistently had issues when trying to place an order for delivery. Namely, the restaurant is open but can't place an order, since Skipthedishes tells me the restaurant is closed for delivery. And since I'm about 2 hours round trip from the restaurant, this is a big deal.
If you drive, best bet is to call in your order ahead to the restaurant directly and pick it up yourself. If you're like me and take transit, call the restaurant ahead of placing a delivery order to ensure they have the Skip app working on their end.
Edit: also, using Skip is sometimes dicey. The restaurant doesn't confirm in time and your order gets cancelled. Just happened to me, not even 2 minutes ago.
Edit: issue seems to be if you try to select a delivery window time. Ordering asap, it gets confirmed quickly. FYI, if it helps anyone.

β β β β β I stopped by Charlieβs while out in Mississauga. I got the lunch special jerk chicken for about 9 bucks with tax. It came with rice and peas and a bit of coleslaw. I saw a couple of reviews that said the chicken was undercooked so obviously I looked out for that. What I got was at a minimum yesterdayβs chicken and rice that resembled steel cut oats clumped together. It was a totally gross. The flavour is still making me gag, it tastes awful. I cannot believe they kept a straight face while they served up that food. Iβll bet they are laughing their behinds off back there wondering why anybody would buy their food, and let me tell you I never will again. This is a no go zone. #petfoodtakeout.
