Took delivery of a brand new Lighthouse 26 HT last year. In less than one full season the no-slip deck paint began to split. Multiple phone calls and emails to Central Marine to stand behind their product, still under warranty, remain unanswered. This is what bad customer service looks like.

Couldn't ask for a better marine shop. very well educated, and got me out of a jam, when my marina "lost" my work order, that was suppose to be open 4 weeks ago! Thank you central marine.

We purchased our boat from central machine at the boat show in January 2018. We were told they would try to have it by May long weekend. We went to the store in midland the week before and were told the boat had not arrived but the motor and everything else was in stock and ready to be installed ASAP. We were never kept informed about the status of the boat delivery. In July, after being told the boat had arrived, we were told that they no longer had the 150 hp that they told us they had set aside for us, for which we had paid a down payment and had a signed contract. They said we could have a 200 hp for which the boat maker advised us the boat was made for a maximum of 150 hp and they could/would not advise us to put a 200 hp. The other option central marine offered was to give us a 115 hp but would only reduce the price by $3000, although another marina and the Yamaha book value said it was $4250 cheaper. Central marine also said they would cancel the whole deal, and in fact threatened this when we questioned the $3000 valuation. The entire experience was fraught with unbelievably bad customer service One day before we were to get the boat, we checked with the salesperson who said they had forgotten about the trailer we had bought and he did not know if they had any left so he was not sure if it would be ready. We were never kept informed of any developments and overall the customer service throughout was unbelievably bad. I would never recommend central marine.

I'd heard good things about Central and its staff, but my experience was anything but. Central wasn't responsive, freindly or competitive in prices. I would not recommend, but I have heard others who love them. Maybe my experience was the exception.

No information on opening hours at the front, no message on hours of operation on the phone. They are not open on weekend, so if you order parts and you are not local... you need to take a day off. Be aware... NO RETURNS or REFUNDS ETC. even if they don't say that upfront... or you find out the hard way yourself.

Lost key for my Mercury outboard took the ignition over to them five minutes later I was on my way with a new key for $5 unbelievable service. Gave them 20 just for the trouble.
