I’ve lived at Centennial place for a year, the staff are great (my RA Eric Charbonneau is the best), building is really clean, maintenance orders are resolved quickly and efficiently. Centennial Place has great programs witch are always fun and a great way to make connections. The energy is always positive and the RAs do a great job of bringing the community together. As an international student, they have everything that I need, the leasing process was easy and they offer virtual tours of the building and units.

The 3 stars is for the price and amenities because other than those everything else was a meh, especially the staffs. The work oder and maintenance staffs are actually nice, but I am not sure about the residence life staffs and the admins. Story 1: I applied for a new lease in summer and they gave me an automatic response of how I am an UTSC student and there are no space available. Story 2: I had a few issues with two of my roommates, at one point I told the RA about it. And after ONE WHOLE MONTH they decided to threaten us for a meeting when by that point we largely resolved most of the problems we had. Story 3: there are a lot of leftover food and even alcohol from the last tenants in summer that was not cleaned out of the suite. However the amenities and rooms are actually nice. You get a furnished + big private bedroom and a full kitchen + shared bathroom that actually has a decent sink and mirror. Lots of storage space in the rooms and kitchen. For this prince I am satisfied. Also the location is fairly convenient if you are students, got a big bus terminal right next to the building with GO bus stop+ ttc.

Overall I’d say I had a pretty good experience here. I got a great roommate, most of the events are really fun and you get to meet new people + try new things, staff are also pretty nice. My smoke detector ran out of battery at 2 am once and someone was sent up immediately to fix it. The maintenance workers are really nice and open for a chat while they help you out. The only issue I’d say that kind of bothers me is there are sometimes ants found around the dorm and I have no idea where they’re coming from and how they end up in our drawers. Sometimes the water also turns really cold and will stay like that for a little bit which is a little annoying, but not a huge issue. I’d say it’s a been a good experience, I definitely made a lot of good memories here.

Centennial Place is the best place to live if you are new to Canada. This is my first year in Canada and unbelievably I feel at home. The location in Scarborough makes it appear to be an expensive place, but I believe it's worth it. My English got much better, I almost never felt lonely, I had fun, made many friends, and I learned a lot. The amenities of the building are also good. I do like this place.

I’ve been a residence here for two years . The common spaces are great . The theatre room , games room , gym. The staff are friendly and they know how to manage the pandemic well . Staff create wonderful events . Thank you Eric for keeping things positive all the time. The house keeping keep everything clean . Barb is the best house keeper in my mind . These past Two years have been the best I had living here.

Here is so amazing. I can have chance to eat different kinds of food in the world. In addition, you can have nice residence assistant to give your suggestions. Most importantly, you can have study room to study. What a perfect place it is! (Joey)

This place seems nice at first. The rooms are good, but the rules they impose are ridiculous. They say no guest policy, however they check selectively, so certain individuals can bring guests. Seems like they have a certain resentment that they cannot bring guests themselves so they take it out on you. Moreover, amongst themselves they do not share information about residents. I had an agreement with one person about the move out date, but others didn’t not have this information so they kept bugging me about moving out during my exam. Also, the booking system for common rooms is terrible. You can book the room and then it turns out someone else booked it and it is occupied, so you can’t enjoy your time in common rooms. In addition, when I first moved in, I had bugs everywhere in my room so that should tell you something about how they clean (even during covid times). My friend had a problem with a thermostat, the temperatures in her room were 16 degrees and while she reported it, they never fixed it so she had to sleep in her coat for a week. Overall, If you want to have a feeling like you live in prison or a kindergarten, then you should definitely apply for the residence there.

I have been at Centennial place for 2 years and I have had such an incredible experience living here! My resident assistants in first year Eric and Gabi did such a good job at programming through the pandemic and making everyone feel involved even at a distance. Management is so supportive with questions or issues. Mathew and Steven were great at easing lots of worries my parents had with me staying away from home for the first time and made move in day so memorable. The staff are all just so incredibly kind and sweet and make everyone feel at home in the building.
