Cedarglen Living - Calgary

I worked here briefly and am being asked to review them after googleing their info for a loan application. They are both an excellent builder and employer and I would recommend them highly.

My experience with Cedarglen Living from start to finish has not been very positive. After taking possession, I noticed many issues after moving in (which is typical of new homeowners that are delirious from lack of sleep). It was promised that these things would be fixed but have not been till this point. While it is true that legislations exist to protect homeowners and builders, my opinion is that they are skewed towards protecting the builders. In the year that I have been in this place, there have been numerous nail pops in two hallways. In the same two hallways, nearly every drywall board has popped and very definitive lines are visible in the walls. It’s horrible and I have never seen this happen in all my years of home ownership. Again, legislation exists which speaks to this, but Cedarglen Living has, in their policy, that they will fix the nail pops/drywall deficiencies (one time only in a three-year warranty period) to be ready for paint but will not complete that last step. That last step is HUGE!!! I fully appreciate that land settles as do homes and walls but this is then where the customer service component comes in. Customer Service is something that businesses should pride themselves upon. Quality workmanship is something that businesses should pride themselves upon. I am sorry to say, but in my opinion, again, this is a builder that falls short of that. I have had homes with other builders and they follow the same provincial legislative procedures, however, they are more customer-services focused and they have always gone that extra mile to ensure that the customer is satisfied (including repainting a whole main floor and even replacing an entire wood floor because of poor quality product). It is that sort of customer service experience that continues to build positive business relations not just with its customers but also goes a long way in bringing in more business. Taking all things into consideration, my opinion is this: find another builder. Some of the features are nice, there’s no denying that, but quality should matter esthetics.

We fell in love with this condo from the first day we saw it. Nothing else was going to measure up. This was reinforced by the staff at the show suite, the Quality Control Technician, the Admin staff and the Sales Development Manager. Every Cedarglen personel that we dealt with was "top notch". The condo itself is so well designed and utilizes space so well. It is bright and open, lots of windows for natural light. Quality workmanship throughout and lots of attention to detail.

I had a great experience with Cedarglen Living from start to finish. From the point of sale , to moving in and the yearly inspection. Everyone I encountered with Cedarglen was very professional and responsive. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from Cedarglen in the future. Definitely recommend!

From sales to the follow-up after possession of my condo, was beyond a great experience. I could tell the Cedarglen Living team was very experienced. My first home was a condo which I bought in the open market, compared to that, working with Ward and Danielle on my brand new condo was an amazing experience. I wish I had just gone with a brand new condo the first time.

Outstanding builder who providers practical and timely solutions. Always provide great communications, and available when you need them. They care about their owners and residents and deliver top tier customer service, not once but always. Furthermore, they build a truly great curated product in well thought out communities!

Cedarglen Living is a quality builder, and design and construct wonderful homes and communities. A few comments: their construction from my experience is durable, quality construction that's built to last, and they provide at every level excellent communications and follow-up. Cedarglen Living has tremendous and proven experience in the home construction industry and simply leads to a positive reputation and history of satisfied customers. In addition, their costs are transparent and they stand by their product.
