The Academy accepts all active guide certifications that are recognized by the National and Provincal Parks in Alberta. Currently OCC, IGA, and ACMG. Other certifcations will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

I’d never heard of the Georgetown “ghost town” before, despite being from Calgary and having visited Canmore several times. Really pleasant woodland walk, lots of interesting historical and wildlife info from Jacob, and a little bit of eeriness too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the Nature by Nightfall guided tour with Jacob, who was very accommodating despite the fact that we arrived late at the meet up point. He took his time to take us to the viewpoints and shared tidbits about the town along the way. The best part of the tour was definitely the star-gazing bits - we were lucky enough to see a couple shooting stars as well as the International Space Station and a mysterious multi-coloured "star" in the sky over the mountains. Coupled with the wildlife we saw on the trail, the experience was unforgettable. Thank you Jacob for the incredible tour!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I went on the night tour with Jacob and had a blast - beautiful starry skies, gorgeous night scenery, and an incredibly knowledgable, passionate, and funny guide. Alberta landscapes are incredible but Jacob made the tour amazing! Would do again in a heartbeat.
